Slipping on banana peels abuses charisma (I discovered this when attempting to create a limbless character by repeatedly slipping on banana peels in New Attnam).

Interesting. Can anyone corroborate this?

Here's another one I found today (probs known already, but it felt pretty cool doing it in my current run) :

Wanna get out of UT but not strong enough to face Genetrix ? Apply a wand of teleportation near her. She'll be teleported (along with you) somewhere random on the floor, giving you access to the stairs. (In my armless run I put down a wand of tp near genetrix and kicked it until broke to get past her :3)

That's a pretty common tactic, yeah! I'm impressed you figured it out on your own. Some veteran players will try to teleport her (preferably with a zap, rather than a broken wand) so they can come back later and train weapon skills and attributes on infinitely-spawning carnivorous plants.

Finding out on an armless run is very impressive!

I feel like teleporting Genetrix should make her appear elsewhere, if not necessarily in the same dungeon.

Would be pretty neat to have her pop up in like GC7 or something because you tried to skip her with the teleport wand.
System would indicate in graphic if person is mounted on horse or not.
Same system also show if person mounted on boar, elephant, polar bear etc.
Or if person mounted on ass.

That's an interesting idea 4zb4. It'd be nice if that came with a danger level adjustment too, to keep her threatening.

Praying to silva also moves her. there are two guaranteed ways to know Silva - disarm kaethos the village elder (see what i did there..) or visit the altar of silva that is a guaranteed spawn in UT4. Second is not hard early game if you find a source of invisibility.

I just tested out something related to the Slob's Challenges thread.

I equipped a friendly kamikaze dwarf with a wand of teleport and his usual backpack of gunpowder.
I then kicked him.
He detonated immediately, breaking the wand in the process (just according to plan!)

But the teleport beam struck me first and teleported me away before the explosion did any damage to me!

Hmm. Does that mean there's some order of priority as to which blast effect hits first, regardless of which explodes first?

Can you teleport all the stuff out of the treasury this way?

That was the plan.
And yes, it works but you can't trust the wand of teleport to always break...

Sorry to post here, but you can sell the Justifier.

Edit: There's a pull request out.

I am surprised that's not on the wiki already

On a side note, the wiki needs a serious overhaul...

In my last game, I happened to have the minefield, Merka and a magic mushroom infestation on the same level... Fun times.

I found out you cannot be paralyzed by floating eyes if you can't see them... You can simply drop your lantern, backstep until you and the eye are both in darkness, then kill it with absolutely no problem.

The last one, but AFAIK no change to the floating eye code happened since 0.50, so it should work there, too.

A method of savescumming, in fact exists; but this is probably already known.

1. Create a new folder (outside of the IVAN folder) (I called mine IVAN savescums)

2.Start a game.

3. Hit S to save and quit, and then quit the game from the main title screen.

4. Go to "Save" in the IVAN folder, open up your "savescum folder" too.

5. Copy (not move, nor cut/paste) the files from the IVAN saves into the "savescums".

5.5. Repeat whenever you feel in the middle of your run.

6. Whenever you die, quit out of the game, then copy (not move/cut-paste, to ensure you still have a copy of that save in the savescum folder) the save files you had in the savescum folder back into the IVAN save folder.

7. Restart the game, and presto! Your old save is ready to be played right where you saved it!

Yep. Preventing savescumming in an open-source game is more or less impossible without running the game on a server.
