Yeah, but it does it in the most charming way.

True. How many games can boast flying limbs as a main appeal?

I just found out that kneeling at an altar with '_' will give you a (very) slight increase in favor with that god.

About the threat level and wearing vs just having in inventory:

What if I was wearing eg. armor of greater health and cloak of invisibility, but before entering a new level, I'd take them off and drop them, then descend and returned for my gear a moment later?

Will my threat level drop? Will it affect the monsters spawned for the level (the monsters spawned right after floor generation, not the new monsters spawned while I have my gear again)?

Keep in mind that your threat level is dynamic. So yes, it will drop. Yes, it will go back up when you equip them again.

Absolutely, if you're really paranoid of your danger level that's totally something you could do.

I wouldn't bother since danger level's not a big deal grumble grumble

Not that I would ever bother, too. It just crossed my mind that it could solve that armor of greater health threat level spike problem, if anyone was interested.

And one more question please: Is it possible to somehow put a non-liquid stuff inside an empty tin? I'd so much like to tin my lumps of banan flesh!

You can't currently tin solids yourself, unfortunately. You can only get tinned food if it spawns like that.
I think that was on the list of things to do, or was intentional to induce actual difficulty in not starving to death while all your food items rot slowly.
System would indicate in graphic if person is mounted on horse or not.
Same system also show if person mounted on boar, elephant, polar bear etc.
Or if person mounted on ass.

As I recall from another thread, in IVAN 0.40 (or one of the .4s; too lazy to check), you could dip containers and weapons into solid materials like flesh, but for whatever reason (likely what you said, 4zb4) it was removed in 0.50.

I also just realized that weeping blades in CVS spill acid on enemies; I never bothered using them before because they're always made of fairly weak materials.

An item whose primary material has been transformed into an edible or drinkable item can be eaten or drunk, resulting in leftovers in the form of:
  • A stick for most weapons that use handles (e.g. spear, battle axe, hammer, whip).
  • Nothing for sword weapons (e.g. dagger, short sword, bastard sword)
  • Also nothing for wands, lanterns, chests etc
  • A ruby stone for the Staff of Wondrous Smells.
That's as much testing as I've done.

Also pressing the run key while polymorphed into a rooted monster produces the message "Well, well, aren't we funny today, eh?"
Though amusingly a rooted monster can still jump on the world map or travel up and down stairs.

Is the Staff of Wondrous Smells more valuable than the ruby stone?

Sometimes yes.
A ruby stone is worth the same as a teak or ebony staff of wondrous smells, but either an octiron or an arcanite staff will sell for much more.
That's because basically wood materials are worth squat.

Also totally forgot to mention I found out a while back that if you make an item emit the colour black (R=0, G=0, B=0) via the script files, the game correctly recognises it as darkness, rather than just a light that happens to be black. Which is neat.
This came up because I was trying to make a monster that actively darkens the area around it, even if lanterns or other light sources are present.

Every monster (player included) has a defined but unused Mana attribute. I suppose it was planned to be used in a magic system? Is it used in any variant?

Also:

"I see dead people." - Necromancer

This is a reference to Sixth Sense movie. I like that film.

Drinking pepsi can kill you.

Also drinking pepsi in the game does direct damage to your torso. Thankfully since you can't turn anything into pepsi in a normal game this probably isn't an issue, unless some poor soul barely beat Oree, found his pepsi and drank it, killing himself and ending a good run prematurely.
It also shifts your alignment toward chaotic.

Magic was planned, yes. Hell, it was supposed to be in the next version. Unfortunately, development is "deader" than this forum.

Eating human flesh is an evil deed. However, if you are polymorphed into an inhuman form, it seems not to be taken as a cannibalism.

Huh... I wonder if you're polymorphed into something else, like a wolf, and you eat another wolf, what happens?

Edit: yep!

Huh, so it's not human flesh in particular, it's cannibalism.

Limbs don't affect it, as they're secondary materials, but if the player's torso material is banana flesh...
