Yes, having a +10 flaming valpurium sword, swinging it a couple of times to spawn veteran kamikaze dwarves on the level and then have it disappear in UT2 can and will kill you. The danger level just doesn't spike like that in a normal playthrough, nor do you suddenly lose the equipment that spiked the danger level in the first place. If it does, well, it's your own fault for going down the stairs as a valpurium golem and then get blasted to bits by Izzy.

I'd say that's worth making a big deal over the danger level for, JoKe...!

My point is, as long as you keep a few basic principles in mind, there'll be no sudden lethal spikes in the danger level. Just picking up new gear or enchanting your own will in the vast majority of cases outweigh the increase in danger level. The one rare exception being armors of great health, since the added END screws up the balance.

I find wielding artifact weapons before you have your armor at a decent level screws it up as well.

Yeah, don't go wielding that Turox you found in UT2 straight away...
System would indicate in graphic if person is mounted on horse or not.
Same system also show if person mounted on boar, elephant, polar bear etc.
Or if person mounted on ass.

Artifact weapons don't affect the balance that much. The only reason you shouldn't use Turox early on is the explosion proc.

In other words, if there's a Mjolak right next to the entry stairs on UT1, you absolutely should pick it up and use it instead of that balsa spear +1.

This is what I was getting at. I consider myself lucky to find any sort of fire resistance items before reaching GC, and wielding Turox with your (likely) low tier cloth armor isn't going to end well for anyone.

I've had kamikaze dwarves spawn in UT2 once. That was a horrible (and short) experience. Now I don't eat flaming bananas or school food until I know I can handle whatever my newly boosted stats spawn.

Using a wand of resurrection on a banana peel will turn it back into a delicious banana. I wanted to revive someone but I got a banana instead... >_>

Yep. It's already somewhere in this thread, but I don't blame you for not digging through 20 pages. It also works on a peel from a holy banana, but you'll just get a banana of a different size.

Wut. I must have missed it. Also, a banana of a different size? I never noticed holy bananas were bigger.

Well, it's somewhere! I know because I'm the one who first discovered it. Also, I made a mistake. The peel is bigger, but somehow when you resurrect it it's a normal size banana.

Throwing/kicking a spider corpse at carniplants will cause them to eat it, throw up and probably die. I have yet to try it with the giant one. :3

damn... I love how many things I keep learning about this game, years after development stopped. Awesome discovery Chiko!
Just tested and it just says "it hits the plant... it is not hurt." I take it this is a random occurrence?

Maybe. Did you throw it or kicked the corpse?

I first witnessed a spider getting killed by something, and got shoved towards the carniplant when it died. I'm guessing the spider tried to kill someone trapped in a web, this someone had the arms trapped so it kicked the spider towards the caniplant.

I kicked a spider corpse towards a carniplant and it worked. Maybe it only works that way. Imma try again and see.

Edit: It seems caniplants will only eat when not bothered. I managed to make one eat a kobold and a spider. The only instances they wouldn't eat anything was when I got next to them.

What Capristo said... this game really, really rocks. The devs, who thought of all this... Man! Hats off to them. And you too, Chiko, awesome find. I feel like firing up Ivan just so I can poison a few carnivorous plants to death myself!

Yet another detail no one had ever managed to stumble upon during all these years?

An excellent find, even if of very situational use. Does the kobold meat cause them to lose unconsciousness? If yes, that's yet another easy way to deal with Genetrix.

Nay, it only causes them to eat and stop and then again and again until there's no more.

The reason they're eating it is because it's a food item that happens to have landed on their tile - normally they don't eat because they can't move and find food. Also, they're blind so that's why they only eat when you're not right next to them - similar to the player, they have a check to see if there's anything hostile nearby before they begin eating.

A very neat discovery though. It's a shame some of the bigger, tougher baddies are a lot more mobile and less inclined to eat anything. But that's what leaving crappy cloth equipment and stacked landmines around is for.

Very nice find. I'm tempted to gather an army of spiders and let them loose with genetrix just to see the carnage

Neat way to train ASTR: wield carnivorous plant corpses for weapons in UT3 with Genny still alive.

Negatively enchanted boots make you do less kick damage, regardless of what type of boots they are.
It's so bad in fact that even some standard leather boots -1 will make a character with 12 LSTR not be able to even kick open the doors in UT. And that's just sad.

Also it's probably been said before but Silva's power will detonate all mines on the level, making things like certain dwarven experiments a walk in the park.

you can have the dwarven graveyard spawn on more than one level in the same game. just happened to me.

Edit: Dwarven Minefied. I had ADOM on the brain.

You can't spawn two fresh minefields on one playthrough, but you can find a bones file with the minefield in it, then have the minefield spawn normally on another floor.
