You are blasted by the explosion!

But wait! Your amulet of life saving glows briefly red and disappears and you seem to be in a better shape!

I'm pretty proud of this one
I had no method of teleportation, no healing fluids (had drunk them all when I was very hungry and desperate), no wands to attack him or protect myself with. He had severed off my left arm. No gods that I was in favor with except Dulcis.
Fortunately I was in the big mine room and had been carefully searching every tile. So I led him to a certain one...
In hindsight I could have just stepped on it myself, then I truly would have been a veteran kamikaze human
His scrolls were destroyed in the explosions but at least I live to fight another day!
And yeah for some reason the whip, gloves, and boots I found were all elven cloth!

Ah thanks for that tip.
Body armor was meteoric steel chain mail I think. Gloves were just leather gauntlets of strength. I never was able to get many scrolls of enchant armor so nothing was enchanted much.
Still it wasn't like he one-shotted me... he hit me about 10 times I think. I have only myself to blame

Yeah this one hurts. I had:
- permanent telecontrol
- amulet of magic breath
- helmet of brilliance, telepathy
- belt of levitation
- ring of invisibility
- ring of magic resistance
- cloak of fire resistance
- lyre of charm, horn of fear, magic whistle
- Mjolak
- Astr & LStr 25+
- Int 30
- Charisma 25
- Perception 28
- low agility but leg strength was so high, I was not burdened and was planning to train it
- 1 wand of cloning, 1 scroll of charging, 3 socm, 4 sohm, several wand of polymorph
- can of floating eye flesh - planned to clone
I had been playing much more patiently for once and avoided some narrow misses. There was an early kobold with dwarven steel plate armor and he nearly killed me because I couldn't hurt him (at that point Mjolak wasn't repaired yet), fortunately a wand of striking took him out.
And I could've so easily beaten Richel Decos, but I got greedy. The other issue was I never found any good boots, and one of them was destroyed by dark frog blood so I challenged him with an unprotected leg

Went really well at first. I also found a can of ommel cerumen and a bottle of ommel urine and after cloning got up to ~25 arm and leg strength, 30 int. I challenged Richel Decos and stupidly didn't have a wand of teleportation out... could've beat him too 
And at that point I had another wand of cloning, scroll of charging, multiple socm.. ouch.

I LOVE the auto pick up so much. Throwing daggers is so useful now. And you usually find lots of really good enchanted ones too.

There’s supposed to be 2 veteran kamikaze dwarves in the screenshot. One on the island is there but the other is supposed to be where I am. They’re both locked in by the water but the second one escaped
