Polymorphing items, any limitations?

On my latest character I had 4 wands of polymorph by GC 3, so I decided to spend some time polymorphing stacks of granite stones. I did this about 20 times (most of the wands were 4 charges, thank god) and noticed a few things;

I got around 8 carrots.

Most of the items I got were bronze and leather.

I got 2 ommel bone chain mails.

I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was any limitations or guidelines to what you could get by polymorphing items, or could share interesting items they got in the process of polymorphing.

I don't know of any limits aside from the obvious left nut of Petrus / GEF coat / head of Elpuri, etc. I've gotten named items and Oily Orpiv. Yes, people have pointed out how much more carrots show up when polymorphing than when just exploring. I think that's wrong, I think carrots are just as common in the caves, they just get eaten by other monsters before you can find them.

I also happen to get oil lamps often, that's cool.

Guidelines? When breaking a wand, it I think 3 items on each square around You. Have polycontrol, a good pet or safe spot before attempting it, though. Also, digging out the GC1 fir is faster and takes less food than mining granite all the time
Well I assume that a bolt has a given, numeric, amouunt of perwer. (assi in enegri)... unless it's LAERSER SKISKLS POEWN PEWN!

Thanks for the confirmation. And yeah, I did go back up to GC 1 before I started. It didn't come to my mind that the materials were different, I was just low on food at the time and thought that if I started to get too close to hunger I could just fly over to new attnam and do the banana trick.

Actually I think the carrot thing might be deliberate. Many's the time I've fucked around in WM (see entire level) and carrots do seem to be rare. Also I've a suspicion that monsters don't like carrots, after finding one immediately after some fighting in a legit game.

I think the high rate of carrots from polymorph is deliberate. Put there either as a placeholder, to lessen the chance of good items, OR as a reference to something - much like many other things in the game, such as eddy's and their couches.
System would indicate in graphic if person is mounted on horse or not.
Same system also show if person mounted on boar, elephant, polar bear etc.
Or if person mounted on ass.
Ivan find mounting on ass funny.

Puppies eat carrots. It's always a high-priority task to stop them from doing so.

The first thing I do in any game is curb stomp my puppy.

Really? Didn't work out for me Could it have anything to do with perception? Cuz I couldn't see the fifth pile when i tried it ^^

Edit: Nvm it worked just now... no idea why it didn't work out before.

I don't see anything special about carrots in the source, except that they can be thrown to bunnies.

You mean like the way you throw bones to puppies? What a waste...

hmm, might be useful for the gigantic color-shifting one, if you can't find any taming scrolls. but even in that case I'd rather have the perception I think

When poly wand is broken it alters every 5 first items in the stack next to place it has been broken and on the spot also. Pets and mobs can be polymorphed too in that way and I recomend that, beacouse they can get morphed into forms with high INT/Wis and therfore provide a sci-talk. This can be done in Attnam without any problems, just be sure to do that in closed house so the damn citizens would not be able to steal the stuff.

I recommend doing it next to an altar. You can change it to that of another god, if you're lucky it'll be just what you're looking for. Take note that the altar will take the place of one item however.
