Well, that interview was quite a long time ago. But it was quite fun I think I was afraid that I won't be able to speak smoothly, but it was not a problem at all -- if I did have breaks or make errors, they were edited out.

I am not up-to-date with the current IVAN at all, but I guess I could still talk about IVAN3D and some of the past things.

I have recently started talking with Darren Grey about a possibility of me talking in the Roguelike Radio again (probably about HyperRogue), so I could mention that we would like to talk about IVAN too.

The idea of the poll is to rank the progress in the given year (although probably many voters do not know that).

To get IVAN on the poll, we would need to actually release a new version. Hopefully it will get many votes then.

I have discovered that the shoutbox drains my data transfer at 18 kB per second. Since I am currently on a mobile network, I actually pay for that (more than 1 US cent per minute). I suppose this could be the reason why I have been suddenly drained of my powers in the past (I expect sites like Facebook to drain and I turn them off just in case, but I did not expect that Attnam Forum does this too). I think compression, an option to turn off shoutbox refresh, and more effective implementation (just load the changes) would all be helpful.

Silva is also good for providing phoenix feather limbs.

Actually, such a strike command would be also useful if you want to attack a monster in a specific way (e.g. if you want to create a master biter character and attack enemies by biting them).

After you've your head to a wall enough times, the wall will collapse. In the end it's only a matter of being more patient and resilient than the wall.
When I read that, I thought, "how can you hit a wall with your head? Maybe when you have no arms and no legs? and I thought that you cannot bring down a wall if your attack is too weak... or maybe he meant vomiting on walls?"....

Maybe there could be a "hit a wall with your head" command in IVAN...

Looks good, hopefully forwarding works. Thanks! Forwarding old messages is not required. Does that work as a jabber client too?

Yeah, a good idea! If you are friends with god A and want to convert to god B who does not like A, offer an activated grenade to A. This would make A and friends hate you, but would be very good for your relations with B. This looks like a good method for betrayal. Not so good if you were already a follower of B.

It is kind of possible in wizard mode, by creating stat-raising stuff, which is done by CMing stuff into ommel materials. (You cannot affect limb stats separately, but you could try to do this by detaching limbs and reattaching them later...)

I like what Dungeon Crawl does with starting stats: they are randomized, but the total seems to be constant, or approximately constant (I have never verified whether it is constant, but I don't remember any character who had all stats high or all stats low). At level up you can choose which stat you want to increase, so even if you don't like your starting mix, this should even it up (unless some stat is really useless to you (and your starting level in that stat is too high), but this is not likely). I think that's a good mixture of randomness and non-randomness: you don't do any boring stuff like manually specifying your starting stats, or quitting new character right away because they have bad stats.

Congratulations Batman?! You want your daughter to become a mistress queen?

If it is easy to implement this kudos system, why not? I think there will be some fun with it. (The simple one, with one +1 per post always available, one with +1s to give as rewards for +1 received might be too much trouble.)
