The AoLS will only save your life once. A belt of levitation can save your life and items several times over, and a scroll of change material can save your life many times over if used wisely.

More to the subject at hand, I don't think there are many things that were added in LIVAN that are more must-have than the basic IVAN wish-fodder (although as it uses CVS IVAN, you may find things that aren't in .50 that are pretty good, such as the ring of thieves [gives you haste]). Off the top of my head the only item I can think of that is LIVAN-only worth wishing for would be the dragon cuirass, but that's rather common, so not really that good.

Well, I thought I found something very neat, but it was actually something else which is still neat but not as neat as what I thought it was: archangels can survive beheading (once, in a similar manner to the way a character survives when killed while wearing the amulet of lifesaving, which basically means they have the power of complete lifesaving).

The idea is that you would ordinarily go to Hell if you died; since you are (mostly) protected against this while wearing the amulet of lifesaving, Hell's gates are closed for you.

Hm. I see this does happen (but it looks to be somewhat unreliable, definitely a 'only do this if you really have no charges left' plan).

Personally, I would eat it before considering it for fireball use. However I don't believe it rots, so you could conceivably hang on to it until the enner in case you can't find a wand of fireballs or otherwise suitable explosive.

Hey, at least you have a bones file with that now.

...you did remember to die somewhere other than UT1, right?

I would not have thought throwing mines would work.

Yes but you would need levitation somehow. Al didn't specify that so I'm not sure.

Mines don't require levitation to activate without dying. Also, as pointed out the enner is in GC5, not the UT; you stand a way more than decent chance of finding dormant mines before the enner.

I'd take an arcanite plate mail over a chest from Atavus any day.

Easy, drop it and slap an active mine on top, then wait for the enner to roll through and admire the explosion.
