Nah, I figure you'd just zap it while standing next to the entrance. Then you just kick stuff out the door into the nearby one (and hope nobody tries to open the backstop). Bigger problem I have is that I find wands of door creation to not be very common; a broken bottle or banana peel would be much more accessible generally speaking.

Ah. I guess I could try that, but I've never bothered hanging on to banana peels. I might have to wait a while before the hunters/maidens who can randomly walk past the doorway hurt themselves too much to be in my way.

kyle: That is far from the point. If you hit *anyone* in Attnam, by design or accident, everybody goes hostile (including Petrus and the angels he summons). The veteran guards and shopkeeps are enough to make hanging around (especially if this is your first visit to Attnam) a *really* bad idea, let alone if Petrus and his Valpuri angel posse come after you.

Speaking of the library cheat, I recently lost a good character over kicking a stack and hitting a housewife. Damned commoners don't know how to stay out of the line of fire! :x

Oh I see. Yeah, you would have to try depowering yourself a bit for that to work if it didn't happen in an acceptable timeframe. :/

I can't recall if I reposted this one, so I'll just stick it here.

Doom siren: A creature who, like the sirens of Greek myth, sings men to their deaths. Unlike those sirens, though, they live in the dungeon, and so instead of singing lovely songs that cause men to sink their ships trying to reach the seemingly loveliest voice, they sing songs of such deep sadness and pain that those who hear it are driven to suicidal acts. A kobold carrying poison for his hunting drinks it in despair; a kamikaze dwarf becomes a fine mist at the seeming loss of his god's favor; a dark mage electrocutes himself trying to bring his power back. Those wishing to slay such monstrous demons may stop up their ears, though fitting items be few and far between; braver men may attempt to fight through the magics of the song, but the doom siren is not a weak maid to be killed easily, and all the while such a man's body would be prone to turn treacherous such that whatever weapon used is turned against him.

translation: this monster has the ability to make players and monsters do things that lead to death, like hitting themselves with their own weapons, setting off known nearby (1 square distant) traps, blasting themselves with wands, etc. (It activates the same way as the enner beast's ability.) I have heard this would be really hard to program and I don't doubt it, but you asked for ideas......

I once had a very unlucky legless adventurer who rolled around, so I don't think that'd be a problem as long as you were willing to wait.

4zb4, the NPC blocking his path isn't a minion/ally/friend/tamed critter.

Chaostrom: I'm guessing the devs did not anticipate something like this happening. As it is right now, probably all you can do there is die. :/

The only real limiter to dual-wielding is arm strength; if neither of your arms are strong enough individually (yes, apparently individual arm strength is tracked) to wield a weapon, you can't wield it one-handed. There is also an ostensive penalty for being just barely strong enough to hold a weapon ("you have much trouble/some difficulty wielding this item with one hand"); probably you have to have at least two points more than the required strength to avoid this. It shouldn't impair you nearly as much as being burdened or stressed unless you are learning to use a weapon for the first time (no skill in use at all).

Correct, although if you do these 1 turn after the other it won't necessarily make a lot of difference.
