Finally a good character.

The enner beast was right near the staircase. I hit him with a wand of striking which went *through* him and into the kamikaze dwarf behind him, causing the dwarf to explode! The combination of strike + explosion destroyed the enner's head and finished him off in one go!

Other highlights so far...
Xinroch didn't stand a chance. My mithril halberd +5 shattered his armor and sword.

Golgor Dhan is lurking around GC5 now... I saw him in GC6, ran upstairs but he followed.

Right now I'm trying to get Ne'erc Seulb just for the heck of it. Cruentus is extremely pleased with me but I haven't found Mortifer's altar (might polymorph one).

I really need to learn a different way to beat this game though... I always use halberds. I haven't found Mjolak or any way to wish for it yet though. I'm going to try to go natural limbs for the first time though.

If you want to try something other than halberds, I can tell you that two-handed scimitars will play similarly. They also deal more damage than halberds, and you can wield one single-handedly more easily than a halberd.

Whips of thievery. Enchant one to + 10 or more and change it to GEF or spider silk then clone it.

I also like a whip shield combo or a sword shield combo.
vermis shield combo
vermis/whip combo
dual wielded swords either scimitars or flaming
dual vermis

I've never played with mjolak - it doesn't align with my gods but dual wielded valpurium or diamond halberds are ok

Somehow I always find myself dual-wielding either daggers, short swords or sickles. Or a combination. Not sure it's that effective however it's what I was using on my best game.
Also sulphuric acid and whips, due to something I believe Izzy said some time.

Oh, and has anyone tried SoCMing a (big) mine to be enner proof? Seems an awful waste but if it's going to kill him before he kills you then it's worth a shot. Or am I talking nonsense and mines actually can't be exploded by the enner's screams, unlike in my foggy memories of having tried killing it with one because a guard in Attnam inspired me?
System would indicate in graphic if person is mounted on horse or not.
Same system also show if person mounted on boar, elephant, polar bear etc.
Or if person mounted on ass.

That was me. Long ago, when I used to code and was doing some script work in IVAN (it was for the Acid Shield, which as I recall the devs were going to implement but never got around to), I discovered that unlike virtually every other item (and certainly every other weapon) in the game, whips do not have a "broken" state -- thus they can't be destroyed. Which means a whip dipped in acid can be a formidable hit-and-run weapon.

This is probably one of my best characters yet. Even if he doesn't win, I've never done this well before.

AStr 42, LStr 30, Dex 25, Agi 22, End 20, Per 48, Int 36, Wis 32, Cha 13
Perma-ESP and Perma-Telecontrol
Killed Ur-Khan easily, Golgor Dhan with many strikes until he was missing one leg and exchanged one of his weapons for a broken long sword.
Also has killed multiple valpurium, ommel, octiron golems.

Right now I'm dual-wielding halberds, one mithril and one ruby. Still no sign of Mjolak
But I did get Ne'erc Se'ulb

It's in the CVS.

#chaostrom: Is it really? I thought it was missing...

#capristo: Dual wielding halberds. That's pretty impressive, and is something I've tried for repeatedly. Usually died long before (something about not being able to hit things with halberds, I dunno...)

I found one in CVS Izzy, just to confirm. They're incredibly rare though, I thought it was just a regular old arcanite shield I found on the floor.

All this makes me wanna stop studying and play IVAN! Brbivan

A cool way of killing the enner is throwing depleted wands of fireballs! I mentioned that sometime before on IRC I think
Well I assume that a bolt has a given, numeric, amouunt of perwer. (assi in enegri)... unless it's LAERSER SKISKLS POEWN PEWN!

He died 155,000 points. Orc generals were starting to spawn with +7 mithril halberds and a zombie picked one up and killed him. Was down to GC8.

No, but Enners' scream does.

If You land a wand near the enner or hit him with it (which turns out the same), his scream is sure to make it explode. And with 20+ arm strength, it will go far, and with 30+ dexterity, it will surely hit.

I'm just testing it now. Enner can't make wands explode, which is what I initially thought, hence my "what?" post above. It'll break from you throwing it, but not from Enner. I'm positive on this one because Enner spawned right on top of a wand of lightning and it still hasn't broken after 100+ turns.

Ah, I'm sorry. I always assumed it could break anything breakable.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm reasonably certain that wands lying on the floor cannot be broken - only ones in your inventory.
Either that or the situation has never arisen to me. But Al's right, if the wand breaks upon impact it explodes.

Tested. Enner can't break wands. At all. No matter where they are.

And flesh objects as well. His screams also does trigger mines to explode, but only those active. If someone have much Agi he should be able to teleport near Enner, deploy a mine, drop some backpacks, wands or whatever and GET THE HECK OUT in between Beast screams

Well, I'm going for a mace win now. I used to think I was good at this game, but I've learned a lot recently. The perma-ESP and Telecontrol are coming in very handy (I have perma-ESP from eating floating eyes but I'm also wearing the amulet since I didn't find a life-saving one). Also, after a certain point a ring is enough to protect you from fire, and an electricity resistant cloak is way more important. Multiple lyres of charm are very useful for taming tons of giant dark frogs and getting a big Int boost.

A couple questions...

- I won Neerc Se'ulb off of Mortifer and tried cloning it but I guess it can't be cloned. Is it possible to get 2 from Mortifer? I'm still in good standing with him and I have a stash of crystal skulls that should make me his champion again pretty quickly
- Also, slob, how much Int do I need to change stuff into valpurium/golden eagle feather? On the materials page on the wiki it says I need 50 to "harden" but nothing hardens into them.
