Gods
There are a number of ways in which the character can interact with Gods. You can gain knowledge of a god by visiting the god's altar, or reading the god's Book. Praying to Mellis will sometimes result in Mellis sharing knowledge of a certain god that you have not yet encountered. Reading the book of a certain God will also raise your relation with that god, and to a lesser extent your relation with other gods of a similar alignment.
Praying to a god will have a reward if you are in good relation with that god, and will slightly increase your wisdom. It will have a negative effect if you are not in good standing with that god, or if you pray too often. You may only pray to gods that you have knowledge of.
Offering sacrifices to a god will raise your relationship with that god slightly. There are certain items which Gods prefer, which will raise your relationship more than others (as noted by the god thanking you for your "generous offer")
