These are the things that, if we had the coding know-how and drive to fix up IVAN to our whims, would be in IVAN.

I'll start with a simple wish: A way to break down enchanted weapons/armor for enchant scrolls. This would make +5 balsa spears worth carrying around for more than just the gold and novelty value.

Seconded.

But you just know someone will scream: "NOW YOU HAVE TO LOWER THE GENERATION RATES OF + EQUIPMENT!!!111!!11eleventyone!"

And we can't have that.

My wish would be a simpler way to quickly check to see how your diety(s) of choice feel about you, ala Dungeon Crawl. Or something that tells you how much time has passed since your last prayer.

I wish for more missions after killing petrus, or just more alternate missions to win with.

1. I figured it'd be 1 enchant scroll per item destroyed.

2. When's the last time Kahvi was on IRC? Someone ought to see if he's got any news.

3. More missions most definitely

A mission idea: After killing Petrus and becoming the high priest, you would get a way to get into the realm of Mortifier himself, and the mission would be to vanguish this foul being. Alternatively, if you take Petruses nut outside Attnam, Mortifier would grant you the possibility to assault heaven, and to slaugher the weak so-called god Valpurus.
Right, now you killed me. Happy?

Fighting against Gods would be epic.
Also new locations would be nice to have. When speaking to people in Attnam they say something like: "You look like one from I----. Go away." Can't remember the name exactly. Is it some kind of reference or do you find that place later in game. Or was it possibly planned to be planted in game.

There is a dev document listing places such as Irinox (from the line you are quoting - city of witches or something like that), Bazaria (a commercial city where the tourist come from), Mondedr (implemented in LIVAN), and some other. I think they are yet to be implemented.

Thanks for the info. If only they would continue making this game...

Anyway I would also like to see that when making golems from some magic weapon, they would get weapons ability. For instance from flaming sword could be made flaming golem.

The priestess of Silva also mentions Lunethia, some elven realm where the avatar of Silva (tree) exists.

Oh, and the guards mention the elemental plane of fire

Here's an idea; learnable spells.

When reading a scroll you can either cast the spell as normal or attempt to hold that spell in your mind to be cast later. Each type of spell would have a specific Int requirement to do so, with a 50% chance of failure at that level, with chance of failure decreasing as int goes up. How high your int is determines how many spells you can hold at one time. The scroll is expended whether you memorize it or not. Spell books could be used to permanently store a spell from a scroll (though there is a much higher int requirement for this to be successful). Memorizing from the spell book would not consume the spell stored there. Certain spells (wishing, change material, harden, possibly repair) should not be stored in spell books.

You could also have random spell books be generated, either blank or with one or two spells already in it (esp, invisibility, striking, etc...). Blank spell books could be sold by the librarian in Attnam.

EDIT: Almost forgot, you can only memorize from the spell book, not directly cast. The should help prevent or at least lessen abuse to get permanent haste and such.

meantioned before but, I would like to see an on fire state that would cause damagen for a number of turns until it was extinguished. This would be a 100% occurence if you or a baddy were covered in vodka and touched flame and could be very low chance of happening in any fireball/explosion

And you could throw bottles of water at yourself to extinguish it, but the shards of glass might slice your limbs off

yeah that would be good just at throw direction up. What goes up must come down - and shatter on your head.

I'm new, but I've already noticed a glaring problem with pets.

MAKE PETS/SERVANTS TRAIL THEIR MASTERS MORE EFFICIENTLY!

It's incredibly frustrating to have to keep backtracking just to get those friendly fountain-snakes to follow you, and even with Kenny it's an issue. T_T

pets and servants should be intelligent enough to follow their master around corners.

Other than that, since this is a rougelike, pretty much anything that adds more interactions and/or possible player situations to the game is good.

Something from nethack that was particularly funny was hallucination, although there would need to be something to help balance out the difficulty that could add to IVAN, I suspect.

Yeah, the pets really should follow the player a bit better. Also, a little less stubborn genie would be nice in those 1 square wide corridors, or if you want to kill things yourself.

Another nice thing would be differently behaving wands, for example something like a wand that will have endless charges, but consume health or something...?

That would be awesome. Also, randomly generated artifacts would be really neat, especially if they could take many forms. Artifact weapons, armor, wands, maybe masterfully scribed scrolls, bottles and trinkets, rings... all with potential negative, positive, and neutral effects.

Of course, these should be rare enough that someone actually has a reason to be excited by getting one.

Also, about items already in the game... isn't "wand of necromancy" a bit general? I haven't actually zapped one yet, but I assume it creates undead from corpses. However, when I think "of necromancy", I think also of dark healing, using your own blood to call forth magic upon your foes, etc.

You zap it towards a corpse of something and it turns it into a zombie pet. I've only used one a few times so i don't know if it does anything more than that, because a zombie pet really isn't that useful.

I've never gotten to the enner beast, but regardless of how strong the result is, it would be cool to have him as a pet zombie.
