Haha yeah, well i've never tested it out myself but I'd imagine there are some monsters it wont let you zombify.

1. I believe pets following you have something to do with their intelligence and agility. Pets with higher INT such as angels will generally stick to you like... Well, you know the saying. AGI should be self-explanatory.

2. Currently wands of necromancy will turn a corpse into its zombie form if it has one.

Still, a well trained dog (or even a decently trained one, I'd wager) is smart enough to follow its master around corners. Whatever the case, the current system is annoying, so it ought to be changed. It distracts from the fun of the game and is time consuming. I don't want to have to kill the dog to play a fun game.

I get Kenny to follow me, but it usually dies in UT 2. Sometimes when it gets in my way I kill it for breakfast. Annoying thing about pets is that they often seem to check rooms although I would go straight and I have to wait that they come back.

Going back to the zombie question, I think those enemies that can lose limbs can be turned into zombies. Kobolds, humans, etc.

I totally agree with the pet AI thing. It's one of the major problems of the otherwise amazing game...

That's why I always abandon Kenny in New Attnam and never tame anything else except for Sci-Talking purposes (which I then kill after they're no longer useful)

...and equipment theft. Yes.

(and minefield beta-testing... if you know what I mean...)

One damn useful thing could be a wand of stunning.

Hmm. Intresting idea, but it would be quite powerful.

[18.00]You sense danger!
[18.00]Ur-Khan the Orc Marshal is standing there.
[18.01]You zap the Wand of Stunning!
[18.01]Ur-Khan the Orc Marshal is stunned!
[18.03]You slash Ur-Khan the Orc Marshal in groin! You slash Ur-Khan the Orc Marshal in right arm! Your Spider Silk Whip of Thievery +9 steals his weapon.
[18.04]You slash Ur-Khan the Orc Marshal in torso! You slash Ur-Khan the Orc Marshal in left leg!
(whack whack whack)
[18.10] Ur-Khan the Orc Marshal is no longer stunned. Ur-Khan the Orc Marshal hits you in the torso! You are not hurt.
[18.11] Ur-Khan the Orc Marshal hits you in the torso! You are not hurt. You slash Ur-Khan the Orc Marshal in groin!

As you can see, the wand of stunning combined with whip of thievery would be deadly.

Sounds fair to me. Or are you saying that U-Khan is not deadly as he stands? =P Wand of stunning or something similar could be a good addition, I say.

The wand would have to stun them for only a short amount of time. Stunning something for a decent amount of time might be accomplished by breaking it. Drop it next to your enemy/ies, distance yourself and shoot a fireball at them. BOOM! STUN! DEATH!

"A wand of bear trapping" doesn't sound intresting, though. And people sitting in a beartrap can still attack.

How about a "wand of trapping bears"?

... Y'know, it just occurred to me that in a world that has bear-traps, there aren't any actual, y'know, bears. :x

There are bears in IVAN. Polars, grizzlies, black bears, maybe a couple others too

Brown, black, grizzly and polar. Polar bears are the strongest, and the one in Attnam makes for a good pet/food source when you're heading into GC/UT4

As the IVAN proverbs says, "You can't eat a pet and have it, too".

Cerumen, that's all too true, but I meant once it dies

The wand of stunning could also be called "wand of sleep" or something, I don't find the wand of unconscious-ing as a very interesting name.

Hows about a "Wand of Roofie"?

Not only are they stunned, they don't remember anything that happened when they wake up.

What IVAN need is neutral or friendly creatures in the caves, mayhaps.

The dungeon shopkeeper and his guards are neutral. Townsfolk are friendly. Until you provoke them, anyway...
