I actually still use mine quite a bit (I've received comments on it pretty often), but I have a "normal" gmail I can offload everything to if I have to for any reason down the line.

Cool! And don't worry, these accounts are all free, so I have no plan to remove or disable them

Hi, could I have one of those? I'd like juanvaldez, after what I think was my best character.

Well, RIP to this

I was lucky and signed up for G Suite very early, when it was basically a test program, and they have allowed us to have free Google accounts for ~15 years as a legacy G Suite domain.

Starting in July 2022 they will no longer be grandfathering in this old accounts as a free service anymore. I've been milking this on multiple domains so this sucks haha.

There's a discount for the first year, I can't find the exact pricing, but after the first year it will be $6/month per user ($72/year, not sure if there is a discount for paying up front annually). I don't know if I like you guys enough to pay for that myself

I will email everybody who has an active Attnam.com email to see who is interested in keeping them and who is willing to pay for it.

We could also consider switching to a different email provider e.g. Rackspace which is $3 a month

Just emailed everyone

We had 18 total accounts (3 of those had never signed in even once, so I deleted them)

Only 8 of us had used it within the last month (The rest had not been signed into for years, but they may have setup forwarding, so I have not deleted them)

I did find something in their FAQ about "fewer than 10 users for personal use" but all it says is to sign into your admin account for more details. I did so but don't see anything. That might be because we're currently at 15 users. If I don't hear back from the people who haven't signed in for years, then I will just delete their accounts and that should bring us under 10, which may enable us to keep those email addresses for a lower price or maybe even free. We shall see...

If you can keep it for free, then yeah, I still use mine on the (very) rare occasion. Otherwise, do what you must. I'm not attached enough to the e-mail to leech off you. Just gimme a heads up so I can save what I can.

If we're not able to do the free thing, I'd be willing to pay for my share to you out of pocket if I gotta.

Looks like we are in the clear for now, they're allowing you to opt-in to keep your free version (who wouldn't do that? lol)

For my other domains I was able to do so, for this domain it didn't give me that option, but I think it's because I had signed up for it beforehand.

I guess we will find out on July 1st if our emails stop working

It'd be nice if they were clear about that. I only found out after the above conversation that I used mine to log in to a surprising number of things lol. If I can't keep it, I'll need to make another one to use instead.

It appears so!

First email I sent bounced, so that was scary, but I just had to create a new app password

If you have 2FA and were using any app passwords, you might have to reconfigure those

Frack I was wrong.. seems that we are in the new "paid" tier, although the payments don't begin until August.

However I believe if I just reduce the number of users to 10 or fewer we should be eligible for the free tier again.

I'm pretty sure when I originally looked, out of the ~15 accounts we have 5 of them had never been used even once so it should be doable

Did you end up having to pay anything? I'd be ok with sponsoring a bit to keep mine, use it for a ton of game-related accounts.
