Scabies

Scabies is the goddess of mutation, disease, and famine. Her alignment is C (chaotic) and her archangel is called Pestilentia.

Praying

Good Effects

When pleased, Scabies will do of the following for you:

• 1-in-10 chance to spread leprosy to all hostile, non-immune enemies on the level,

 You feel a horrible disease spreading.

• 1-in-50 chance to summon 5 cans of school food,

• otherwise, spill poison over nearby enemies,

• if no monsters are nearby, polymorph the player into a random creature (biased toward powerful, but see Notes).

Bad Effects

When angry, Scabies will do one of the following to you:

• 1-in-50 chance of forcing the player to eat a LOT of school food (causing heavy poisoning) and lowering their AStr and Dex by 1 point,

 You feel your muscles softening terribly...

• failing the above, a chance to poison the player for anywhere between 18 and 30 minutes,

 Scabies unleashes all her fury upon you!

• failing that, infect the player with leprosy.

 Scabies unleashes a horrible sickness upon you!

Altars

Found randomly, as Scabies has no guaranteed altars.

Notes

• Scabies takes name after the Latin word for "itch", which is also used for a disease. Pestilentia then means "plague" or "pestilence".

• Scabies' polymorph effect transforms the player into a creature between the danger levels of 2500 and 10000 for anywhere between 1000 and 2000 ticks.
  • This means the player can transform into any creature as weak as an imp and as powerful as a metal golem. Early in the game this will be very useful, later on it will lose its charm.

• Her negative effect does in fact make you eat actual school food, along with all the effects that brings.
