If a charecter is killed by a named enemy, and a bones pile is left, Is the Named enemy still there when the bones pile is found?

Also if I leave a level do the monster heal while I am off the level? IE if I zap enner a few times with a wand and run up the stairs to heal, is he healing at the same time even though he is not currently on the same level as me?

...Do you mean bones 'file'?If so,then I believe bones files save the entire level for later use,so unless the named baddie ran off the level, then the named baddie will still be there.

I have no idea about the second question.

I don't believe that levels with named baddies will save, however. Barring Jenny. Unless she's dead or moved. I could be wrong on this.

Oh, named enemies will leave bones, I assure you that. A favourite story of mine involves Slob setting some traps for Danny, who just flew over them with a belt of levitation from a previous character and beheaded him in one go. A classic

Really? I didn't think named enemies changed their equipment either. Huh.

Anyways just to point it out because I can, Danny could have spawned AFTER said character was dead.

Named enemies frequently change equipment. Sometimes they drop their good stuff and pick up shitty stuff, I don't know why. Probably because the shitty ones, although they provide less protection, are more flexible or allow them more agility or something.

Ha! I just ran into another bones file with a floating Danny. I drank from a fountain on GC2 and got dropped to GC7. Golgor Dhan isn;t the tough part, somewhere on the level is a dark battlemage who keeps zapping me and I only have an unenchanted leather cloak of electricity resist. Luckily I have lots of helaing potions and two telewands. I just need to find the bloody stairs...

Nice. it defintly left a bones, and its in the UT. i was zapping enner with wands and he destroyed my light source, so i retreaded up the stairs to loof for a light source and realized that the only one I could think of would be the light crystals in UT4. so i headed to the UT4 and as soon as i got there Rondol was standing next to me. I ran up the stairs and as soon as I go up he procedded to totally waste my giuy (second best char ever). so next time I get to that level with my torn leather armor and bone spear +1 i should have a grand old time fingthing rondy , who is now wearing my arecanite chain mail and wielding my +6 Mjolak.

another question, do oil lamps provide light? there were no flaming weapons generated in the game, so the only other unbreakable light source I could think of was a light crystal (do they even provide light)

oil lamps, valpurium, getting covered in mutant blood, ommel urine (might be able to can it and thus be unbreakable - I've never tried)

I DO know that if certain level features are disturbed a bones WON'T be created on that level. And I think the stairway access to UT4 is one of those features.

Holy banana, but I suppose enner can break it?

In one of previous versions it was possible to can a mutant corpse for a permanent light source. Not now.

Actually I've had many bones where the UT4 stairs have been excavated, also bones where jenny has been moved from the UT exit.

In my current game I hit 2 bones files (ur Khan and Golgor dhan) and there was no dwarven mine field. First time thats ever happened

I wouldn't risk a holy banana. Go with oil lamps, crystals or flaming swords.
