I've heard somewhere that a tin helmet stops your enemies from ESP'ing you, does that really work?

Tinfoil maybe IRL. No idea in IVAN. I've yet to encounter aliens there.
System would indicate in graphic if person is mounted on horse or not.
Same system also show if person mounted on boar, elephant, polar bear etc.
Or if person mounted on ass.
Ivan find mounting on ass funny.

Well, I just tested it. I ran around with nothing but an amulet of ESP and a tin helm in my inventory. When I found an enemy that could equip helms and was smart enough to be detected by ESP, I dropped the helm next to it and let it equip the tin helm. I could still see it.

So the answer is no.

Another way to try it: amulet of ESP, ring of invisibility, tin helmet.

Wear the ring of invisibility and the helmet, you shouldn't be able to see yourself. Then don the amulet.

Tried it with both normal helmet and a full helmet, neither worked.

C'mon guys, I think this is just a joke. Haven't you heard that tinfoil supposedly stops aliens (or in some cases, the government) from reading your mind? Some Hippies and U.F.O. Enthusiasts used to use the stuff all the time. Of course, it needs to be worn on (or above in vehicles) your head to block the "mind probes". Hence the tin helmet.

We know it's a joke concept 4zb4, that's why it was possible that it was a feature in-game. It's not though.

I think tin helmets should cause the wielder to be immune to ESP... We also need an armor/cloack that protects from infrared. undetectable chars here we go!

I remember holybanana (or someone) once suggesting to morph into an invisible golem so that you are not detected via ESP. (Low intelligence protects from ESP.)

I think I once RFEd that a tin helmet should protect from ESP. Not sure.

Back when Holybanana did the coding contest, and split the "prize" instead just giving it to Freelance, making tin helmets block ESP was one of the features I requested.
