I was thinking more Genghis's half brother
System would indicate in graphic if person is mounted on horse or not.
Same system also show if person mounted on boar, elephant, polar bear etc.
Or if person mounted on ass.
Ivan find mounting on ass funny.

Alas, I have returned!

Finally my ambition got the better of me, and again, I've actively restarted/continued this project! (Yeah, I'm an expert at procrastination )

Progress is going smoothly again, and I'd even dare say that's an understatement. I just need some support again!

Also, congrats Erno, I heard you got married? Have a kiwi!

...I hope this doesn't mean you'll leave your cosy little place here...

Support in the form of cheers, gratz and live heavy metal is always available.

Ambition You say!

Dear Serefan, what did You code yesterday/last week/last time? What is the struggle now? Present this daunting code-stunt and we shall, most likely, go all zomggraetsacces.

But generally - I am impressed by the sheer idea and just about any progress in a multiplayer ivan spawn!
Well I assume that a bolt has a given, numeric, amouunt of perwer. (assi in enegri)... unless it's LAERSER SKISKLS POEWN PEWN!

That's the whole point, there is no struggle, it's going way too smoothly!

The only problem was all the data loss after a computer crash, and lots of disappointment when the computer guys didn't backup my project and I had to redo everything from scratch, just when I was nearing engine completion...

But the whole multiplayer idea thingie is still put off, since I'm rewriting IVAN first from scratch, and if I feel like it, add new ideas, quests, side quests, weapons, materials like liquid shit, gods of randomness and phun, etc. Whatever I feel like doing first.

But first, the engine. Let's not get... Too ambitious.

Fingers crossed, everyone who's interested! I'm really enjoying making this, so let's hope I don't run into any kind of trouble/reasons for procrastinating again!

Well, I've only just restarted since yesterday so it's still gonna be a lot of work...

On the other hand if you could get fluffy to wear a cheerleader costume to cheer me up it'd be finished by tomorrow...

But to keep my promise from before the crash, I'll put some regular updates here again.

Right now the visuals are nearing completion again, and then I'll start on the keyboard commands, which is where I left off before the crash.

It was worth a shot.

In other news: zomgprogress! The randomlevelgenerator now generates my test level (a giant square room) where I will be adding piece by piece everything needed. The screen already displays this room, and the player is able to move around.

And that's enough programming for today, Serefan going sleepy nite.

I'm not. The only gifs I'm still using are pics that still need to be changed (White pixels made invisible). But I'm gonna ask someone else to do this while I'm coding, it's too tedious.

Jos did the spambots!

As for now, the whole thing looks at least fit to show in mysterious "programming" threads!

Good job Serefan (the pic indicates so), we want to see Jos in action!

I couldn't sleep, so I started messing around. It's been rushed so it's not aligned well, but I made this specially for you Capristo. <3

To continue on the development plan: Is there by any chance anyone here with enough knowledge of Java, in particular GUI? Because I'm really getting pissed about not being able to continue my work, because of the image loading problem. And I'm getting even more pissed thinking about the fact I didn't have that problem in my previous pre-crash build.

*creeps back in the forum*

Finally, I'm back.

And finally I found the courage to come up with new ideas and implement them. This work is continued again, again. I've implemented SQL databases to contain monster info, item info, and all stuff that needs to be databased (yes, from now on that's a verb). This will greatly improve further programming, AND eventual modding and making addons. This also brought me to another idea, the scenario developer, which will (eventually, after a lot of blood, sweat and tears) give everyone without programming knowledge a chance to fully customize the game. And I mean fully.

So, I'm actively working on this again. Also, hello again everyone, maybe!

Welcome back. Databases, now there's something I like, if you couldn't tell by my development of entirely new forum software from scratch

Kudos to you for that. I was immediately afraid of databases after my confrontation with them at the exams of last year. But now, I love the way I can overabuse them now that I know more.

Anyways, I'm off to school, and I'll get some more programming done there, it's not like I have anything better to do there.

Hurray for databases. As we are still programming in BlueJ (curses) I'm still afraid of SQL, but good luck to you, and May Your Code Be Stylish. Also, the scenario developer sounds both fucking hard and fucking awesome. Do it.
