We could mod a special dungeon for this - no special levels, because that would be unfair; difficulty starting at similar to UT:1 and scaling up; about 30-40 floors? Wizmod to the entrance and than let's try to dive.

That way, we could even keep the "one descent per player, no going up".

Does anyone of you use quarterstaffs? I feel they are quite rubbish as is, because of their very high weight and average damage.

What would you think about buffing them a bit? I'd say decrease their main material volume from 3000 to 2000, putting them on par with staffs of wondrous smells and decreasing the weight issues, plus seriously increase their roundness, like to 50 or 60. They would still be heavy and with sub par damage, but good for defensive fighting.

Wow. Some of these things you tried, guys, would definitely deserve a special effect.

I was thinking about two more NPCs:

An old drunk who you could give potions of vodka to. He would have an extensive list for chatting, various cryptic rumors about game mechanics and secret stuff. This way, even non-spoiled player without the wiki would have a way of learning about some of the more obscure stuff. For example, he could say:

Once I ate a resurrected banana and gosh, was it tasty!
I met an angel once. He fixed my arm.
Don't eat too much, my mama told me, or you'll grow fat and clumsy.
I heard that unicorns taste weird. Not that I would know first-hand.
Tweraif? Yeah, I heard about it from a guy... What was his name again? Oily Orpiv, I think.
I once saw an apprentice dark mage polymorph his small chest and spill all his stuff. I would have laughed, but I didn't wanna be turned into a dark frog.
I heard you can fetch a nice iron arm from the dwarves of Kharaz-Arad.

The second one could be an arena master. Similarly to the sumo arena, there would be an arena in Mondedr. you could chat with the arena master to be sent there and a monster would be generated for you to fight. This fight, however, would be to death and the monster generated would be based on your danger level (of whatever is it called), so that it is always challenging for you. If you win, you get some money for the show. This way, you could get a steady income, but not without risk - maybe raise the comparative difficulty of the monsters generated as you win more fights, so after enough fights, the monster generated would be stronger rather than equal to you.

Yep, I guess the time for this would be right. Vampirism is basically a state where a character's bite attack yields a life-drain bonus.

And it also slowly abuses your attributes, right? That's the one thing I always hated about vampirism.

What if it instead granted a more traditional vampiric weakness? Easiest would be vulnerability to fire, I guess, plus a cool one could be inability to pray to lawful gods.

I just like the idea of optional neutral boss monsters really.

Me too. Optional, but very hard and very rewarding.

I have to say the TX entrance is bombastic! My heart probably skipped a beat when I saw a veteran dark knight right next to the entrance. And the interior with the pentagram... Awsome.

Anyway, I like the vampire room idea. Do you mean to port vampirism from CLIVAN?

And one optional boss for TX could be a black dragon. There already is a tile for 2x2 dragon in game files, so what if he had a lair somewhere TX:2 to TX:4? He might be very overpowered for his area, but neutral. His lair would hold a very large amount of treasure and picking anything would count as stealing...

Additionally, if he could breathe fire (or anything), he might only be able to do so from his head tile, thus making players standing on the other side of his body safe.

I wonder, does the wizard mode work difeerently from what it used to? Not that I need it right now, but I'd like to use it one day and Ctrl+X doesn't work for me...

And BTW, does anyone know how validation of pull requests from local clones of repositories work? I tried to create a pull request from a branch on my laptop into Ivan main on Git, but it tells me a validation is required... I don't have much experience working with this, so I'm probably doing something wrong...
