I know the topic has already passed but I have 2 counts of encountering random beds like those found in the wives' room in Attnam sitting in the middle of a room in UT. And there were no eddies at all.
When I smashed it with a pickaxe it dropped a gold stone, but I think that's the typical drop for breaking furniture anyway.

The damage the kamikaze dwarfs can do is a set amount, not affected by anything but the proximity to the explosion and the amount of explosives the dwarf is carrying, so if you have a highly enchanted cloak of fire resistance (which I always do due to mines in GC) and maybe some rings of fire resistance you should be ok for kamikaze dwarves unless you get mobbed by them or are being an idiot and carrying combustibles around without a chest.
Personally I found the Orcs and Golems more of a problem.

Then again all that goes to crap when the mystic dark frogs appear and proceed to magically strip you of all your equipment and/or debuff it.

Also on the topic of permanent stats: permanent invisibility + being polymorphed into a golem of a decent material = win.

Can't recall if it was in a legitimate game or not but once I had the fantastic idea to turn a large chest into mushroom material.
Oh what fun that was...

I think someone needs to get working on a dwarven sub-dungeon (e.g. similar in length to the dragon cave, but dwarf themed)

Also I had this idea for "ninja smoke", which when it is released from dwarven gas grenades, creates a small puff of smoke and teleports the user away. I think I even did a bit of code (probably script actually) for it, i'll have to have a search.
With this and Warheck's work we could possibly make horribly annoying ninja dwarves.

I believe so Cap. It isn't really a problem unless you end up having long periods without combat (e.g. having to rush back to Attnam to heal Lycanthropy or leprosy). I always find it hard to maintain a high DEX and AGI though.

We're most certainly lucky to have you Warheck.
If it works in LIVAN, it should theoretically work in IVAN CVS.
Also in relation to grenadier dwarves, you had best make them appear only around the time kamikaze dwarves or we'll be having mass amounts of "____ dissolved by mustard gas in Underwater Tunnel level 1"

Why does it say "Sherarax the mistress queen disappears!" (and reappears)?
Ah I see now. Carry on. Looks like you had a lucky escape from that dungeon floor.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm reasonably certain that wands lying on the floor cannot be broken - only ones in your inventory.
Either that or the situation has never arisen to me. But Al's right, if the wand breaks upon impact it explodes.

I found one in CVS Izzy, just to confirm. They're incredibly rare though, I thought it was just a regular old arcanite shield I found on the floor.

Somehow I always find myself dual-wielding either daggers, short swords or sickles. Or a combination. Not sure it's that effective however it's what I was using on my best game.
Also sulphuric acid and whips, due to something I believe Izzy said some time.

Oh, and has anyone tried SoCMing a (big) mine to be enner proof? Seems an awful waste but if it's going to kill him before he kills you then it's worth a shot. Or am I talking nonsense and mines actually can't be exploded by the enner's screams, unlike in my foggy memories of having tried killing it with one because a guard in Attnam inspired me?
