Since you're the resident Win Under Any Conditions guy, Slob, I made you a special thread.

Your challenge this time: Can you bite Petrus to death?

No, no. He must TOUCH him to death!
surely the great slob can do that.
...and yes touching is governened by biting skill
System would indicate in graphic if person is mounted on horse or not.
Same system also show if person mounted on boar, elephant, polar bear etc.
Or if person mounted on ass.

But in order to touch he has to be a ghost. See, in my mind I was envisioning him rolling up to Petrus with no limbs, refusing to give him the shirt, and then chewing him to death with his octiron jaws.

speaking of octiron jaws, does having an artificial head affect bite power?
If it does, I shall attempt the challenge myself

hoo boy,

a biting win, I think that is well beyond the realm of possible but how sweet would that be: " You bite Petrus the High Priest of the Great Frog in the groin. His groin is severed off. Petrus the High Priest of the great frog dies screaming." One can only dream. The ghost thing might actually be possible though I think I could manage that one, not as a ghost myself but with a pet ghost of my former self touching petrus in the groin for a killing blow. Does anybody feel like doing some research on how much damage ghosts can do? Actually come to think of it I wanted to try a pet win but have never succeeded at it.

as far as i know, ghost attacks are practically bites, and run through the same skill system as them. So with a ghost, since it only has STR, that influences biting, much like a wolf or mutant bunny. So therefore it uses the same equation, which I assume is STR +skill -defence for the body part being attacked. Unless skill only affects accuracy.

Hmm,

I thought about it some more and maybe a biting win is possible too.

I still haven't played a game of IVAN in a helluva long time but I did set up my old PC again in preparation. I'm going to have to kill Izzy to go for a biting win. Maybe I should warm up by biting off Elpuri's head. In fact I think I'll call my character Ozzy Osbourne

I'm still super busy with medschool. I just started clerkship which means I am in the hospitals fulltime now, no more classrooms.

Well I've been playing for a bit, working my way up to bite Petrus' nutsack off. My guy isn't progressing very well in endurance and I haven't gotten to know Mellis yet. My guy is pretty stupid too and not very charismatic so I've been holding off on killing decos to get a book of mellis. Anyway I was only at 87 HP and I prayed to Seges and got a troll hide armour of health 9!!! I can safely go and kill enner now.....

died 10 moves later due to my own stupidity. I guess I'm a little rusty.

Heh. Impressive armor find, I didn't even know Seges could give you gear.
Wait... no... I did know that. Still, +9? That's pretty nice.

I just realised, you could do a combination. Anybody remember Freelance's dwarven bite of death? His pet dwarf he was using for training bit through his valpurium/adamantine belt?

Well I died by manipulating my danger level to train stats faster. I put on the AofGH+9 and started fightig an Orc with +5 axes. I realized that I wasn't training skills that well and put on my mithril chain mail instead (lowering my danger value and giving my a bigger boost with each hit/block. unfortunately I had already take a bunch of chest shots and without all the extra HP the orc killed me with one more shot.

Stupid. The orc was no threat to me at all if I wasn;t so stupid

Died again.

I forgot about Freelance Berzerker's advice about vorpal attacks (as he called it) where once you get an item to level 65 and 64 skill then regular baddies become super human. I was training my shield stats, since this will be key to my attempt at a biting victory and maxed out my mithril shield +2. The next monster that came along ripped me in half. Lesson learned: stop training at 95% (level 19). I was only at 87 HP because it is easier to train skills with low HP. Third time's the charm....
