What were your most miraculous escapes on IVAN? Those that you fall from certain death to glory?

Mine was in UT2. My character was very hungry, i had no food on me and everything on the ground was either uneatable or poisonous. I bumped into a corner with a wall, no doors visible. A zombie came after me and after i killed him i was starving. He dropped a copper pick-axe. I quickly grabbed it and, as a last movement, swiped it in the walls to the right. Bam, Seges altar room
I also did some other escape later that adventure, can't recall correctly but i think i had dark frogs on me on GC1 or something. Of course, i died to a landmine on GC2.

What's your best escapade?

Finding out how to use the script files to mod new items in. My first attempt ended with success, when I figured out how to make a liquid that was accepted by the guards, and didn't just make them drunk. It melted their faces off, usually within a few turns.

I don't know what it has to do with the topic, or even what it is about, but it sounds absolutely awesome.

Oh, and about escapes: I once remember accidently pissing off Attnam and managing to run away. Low perception does help sometimes!

(at other times, my escape attempts were far less fortunate, eg. running away from a magic-mushroom-turned-cave-bear in UT: ouch)

Good thread idea although I'm not able to recall any good ones at the moment. There have been some times when I've been near starving and forced to eat the only food available - zombies - and then barely made it to the priestess. It's also great when you have a black torso, no arms, and are fleeing for your life - then you remember that stash of healing potions you keep in your chest.

somewhere on here is a post about how i accidently drank a bottle of sulphuric and survived thanks to shitload of teleporting and multiple stashes of healing fluids on differnet levels.
