question - the wiki says SPOILER ALERT. Click here to see text.
that retrieving the shadow veil gets you a 2x multiplier but allows you to continue playing. If retrieve the veil and then do the freedom for tweraif ending (which also has a 2X multiplier but ends the game)
would the multipliers stack?

No I don't think they stack unfortunately. They should though. I think that would be cool.

Why not add some additional optional goals that would add a small multiplier to the final score?

That would be pretty cool. I'd suggest cumulative rather than multiplicative (ie. x2 + x2 = x3, not x4) stacking, though, or stacking two "easy" victories will beat getting only one hard victory.

Having two x2 stack into a x3 still doesn't feel right IMO. Doing the Tweraif ending is practically just busywork after successfully grabbing and returning with the veil, and isn't really comparable to taking on Petrus for the chaos ending. Adding a static bonus score X for completing a quest seems more in line to me with the multiplier only being determined by the ending you get.

IMHO the mutual exclusivity of the various quests is kind of lame. I dont like how you cant do both. why can the high priest of petrus then go kick the asses of the armies of chaos?

Static bonus seems like the best option. Either that or add the square root of the subsequent victory score.

But what would be the victory condition after the high priest victory? Do we register the score at that point and stop counting, or keep adding to the score?
After all the quests have been achieved, I guess the only thing left would be for the character to die. That would definitely be in keeping with the game

if you quit the game after achieving a victory condition it asks if you want to retire instead.

I think mutually exclusive quests add replayability and allow balancing. If you could access everything, especially with end-game character, you would completely break balance. Right now, the game is rather tightly balanced, and you can see on CLIVAN what happens when you start adding new areas without restrictions.

You can always play in wizmode without using the special features if you want to do have access to everything at once.
