Not that bad. Only some will do it, like goblin warlocks. I've decided against allowing kobolds to use wands of fireballs on you.

I'll be testing! The xBRZ scaling is nice but definitely very slow for me (when running especially)

Any recommendations on what to tweak so that I can get the 2x scale but with better graphic performance?

In the config menu there is an option "Stretch squares around player with xBRZ (performance)"
Set this to say 1 or 2 or 3. That sets the radius (in number of squares) around the player for scaling. So 3 would be a circle three squares around the player that get smoothed. If you set it to zero, it smooths the whole dungeon, which may be what is making it slow.

EDIT: (A thousand posts!!)

Right? It's made IVAN feel like a whole new game.

My autosaves just don't work. Tested with multiple characters, every time I start up IVAN after my pc crashed all autosaves just don't work. When I try to load them it starts a new game and I can't save anymore.

EDIT: Lost another one. Autosaves are extremely useful for me because I have electricity problems and it shuts down quite often.

Some comments on the new materials. I don't like how certain materials are now much more difficult to tell apart.

The biggest offender is blood red iron. I keep thinking it's ommel hair. Chlorophyte also looks to be the exact same green as valpurium, but of course it's unlikely I'll run into any valpurium laying around.

Another thing, I found an obsidian mace that is "highly accurate". I don't think any unenchanted mace should be "highly accurate" no matter what the material. Using the logic from the readme, where they point out that a mace would not be used to kill spiders.

Another comment... I'm torn on the left/right gauntlets and boots. It's a nice idea but, when you see a pair on the ground, especially a broken pair, it kind of just looks like a misshapen lump of material. You can't really tell what it is without inspecting.

Adding more materials is fine, but there are just too much new materials that don't really serve any purpose except confusing the player.

EDIT: And I get killed by golems a lot more often.

Yeah there are definitely a lot more lightweight golems appearing, which seem to have very high accuracy and target your limbs.

Hmm, I wonder if someone accidentally turned the wick up on golem frequency... That certainly needs a rebalance.

Agreed on the materials mimicking valpurium's green, should be a different colour.

Maybe not more frequent, but with the new materials they are more deadly.

The golems I’ve encountered were banana something and grass. The former immediately made both of my arms turn black, the latter chopped one off. I’m guessing in previous versions I would have encountered “parchment” or some other weak golem instead.

Maybe these new materials are lightweight and give the golems extremely high dexterity which lets their arms behave as whips?

Wax/sand golems are freaking glass cannons. They have low hp, but a lot of dex and agi which makes them really hard to hit. But carrot golems... They are my favorite.

I was thinking about forbidding golems from spawning in UT. The way spawning works, the low HP of some golem kinds makes them spawn way too early. Lower frequency and only spawning in GC/TX should be more manageable for the player.

TX seems much more balanced now (well at least down to the 3rd underground level, still haven't gotten past there )
