So, I discovered that scroll of Body Switch is extremely useful and you can become really powerful early on.
Usually when I found it, I pray to Nefas a bunch and then switch bodies with the Mistress Torturing Chief.
She has really powerful stats and for some reason it is a lot easier to get to 55 int on Mistress Torturing Chief.
What do you think is the best use for the scroll of Body Switch?

Anyways on topic, not sure. Are you able to body switch with any pet even if you wouldn't normally be strong enough to tame them?

Edit: testing in Wizard mode it appears not. So how were you even able to body switch with a mistress torturing chief early in the game? Do they have low taming requirements?

I was testing what I can use this scroll early on, and looks like mistress torturing chief do have really low taming requirements. Another good option early on is Slave that is located in the store in Attnam.

Interesting question. I know that stats get "markers" when your characters are generated that make them easier or harder to train naturally. Do NPC's get the Stat Markers as well? It would make the scroll even more powerrful because by switching with another human you could permanently evade a (annoying) game mechanic.

Yep those markers, traits I guess, they only stick with the starting character. So yep, you would avoid those biases if you body-switched to e.g. a mistress.

A body switched to an angel in wizard mode. She did gain stats pretty quickly even in UT, and then was able to take on most of Attnam without a problem (except the archangel and Petrus)

Body Switch is a bit OP, there should be a higher INT requirement to body switch into someone, stat marks should be moved to a new character (because I got 8 INT points as a mistress torturing chief by science talking to the librarian in Attnam)

EDIT: And gold should be moved from the old character to the new one.

I just got though the UT with a Scroll of Body switch. I am in Attnam - who should I use it on? also What are the mechanics of how the scroll works? is it affected by my stats, or are some monsters immune to it?

Pray to Nefas a bunch to get a Mistress Torturing Chief, then body switch into her. If you want to be lawful or don't know Nefas, then you can body switch into the slave from the shop. I don't know if these are the best candidates, but winning the game while body switched in a Mistress Torturing Chief is pretty easy.

I don't really know how it works except that you need more INT to body switch into something powerful.

In my last game i body switched into a tomb guard. Turns out they can't read... So a tip would be not switching into guards (Unless it's only tomb guards that cannot read?) if you want to be able to read scrolls/books. Otherwise they're insanely strong. Trained my arm strength to 60~70 from 35 with an octiron staff pretty quickly.

I'm beginning to think SoBS is in need of some serious balancing.

Isn’t body switching a wizard mode command? Probably a reason for that..

Me too. I thought requiring high enough Int and Cha to body switch, plus many humanoids being extra fragile or unable to read will balance it, but obviously some creatures are way too easy to tame and way too powerful.

At least it doesn't seem to be more broken than phoenix feather limbs.

Also since Ischaldirh was spawned after I body switched to a tomb guard and I was just lucky enough to have the enner boy kill him, I think that it might balance out a bit at least.

probably not the right thread, but I just tamed elianiese by praying to dulcis and she proceeded to tame the entire town. also prior to taming she took my belt of levitation.

How? Sirens should not be able to do anything to creatures of the same team:

truth character::ReceiveSirenSong(character* Siren)
{
  if(Siren->GetTeam() == GetTeam())
    return false;

etc.

Wait, did she steal Justifier after you tamed her? That could be the same bug that causes her to steal from non-hostile player.

To do: The check above should be for hostility, not the same team... Also creatures immune to whip of thievery must be made immune altogether.

Yep, once a siren joins the player's team, then it's no longer on the Attnam team, meaning Petrus is fair game for a siren song.
