Cool so far. I like the zombie/ghost of stuff, though the test2 and female tourist zombie are a bit peculiar. I smiled also when I found out about the weeping short sword, though it really wasn't helpful on the carny plants. :/ Speaking of which, due at least in part to the lower amount of power available through weapons I'm finding Jenny rather harder to kill. This definitely requires different tactics..

Oh, here's a bug I found. In UT2, for some reason in Wizard Mode, I was carrying only a broken weeping crystal blade, and suddenly, as Izzy was attacking me, the game screwed up. I'll see if I can replicate the bug, so I can tell you exactly what the details of the bug were, but I just figured I'd let you know that WM may be a bit buggy with LIVAN.

Has nothing to do with WM, the weeping blade crashes IVAN.

Also, BDR, the zombies and test2 are from the CVS, not specifically from LIVAN.
Proudly bringing disaster and mental scarring to Attnam since '05!

I've been playing LIVAN quite a bit lately, and I must say, I'm not as impressed as I thought I was going to be. When playing in Wizard Mode, the game randomly crashes, and I have noticed that many creatures have a small black line above their graphic. I'm pretty sure this has to do with new graphics that were added, and the fact that the existing creatures' DAT files did not have the coordinates for their graphics changed. It's an interesting version of the game, but I think I'll stick with the original until these bugs can be sorted out. Again, I'm sorry for not posting exactly what caused these random crashes, I just keep forgetting to check the details of the crash.

FMW did you get into Mondedr? That's the main addition of LIVAN in my view

I couldn't get to Mondedr, sadly. I was in GC3, attempting to go to a lower floor, when the game crashed. Oh, and it crashes on non-WM games, too, I noticed. It seems to happen randomly when going to a lower level in a dungeon. I think something might have been overlooked in the coding or something. I'll be sure to PM you with the exact error if I can get it to come up again. In fact, I'll probably devote at least part of my night to that, since I already did some work, like my dad told me to.

FMW you must have a shitty version of LIVAN, my game rarely crashes and even if it does I can load up the AutoSave to restore my game.

Man, I wish I could try it out.

Unfortunately, I am unable to download anything, so it'll have to wait.

I'll mess with it a bit, and see if I can get it to work properly. Maybe I didn't, I dunno, unzip it right or something. Even though I unzipped it the same way I unzip every other game. I'll check on the error that keeps causing the crash. I'm positive it's the same error every time.

Excuse the double-post please, but here's an update you may want to know about, lamp.

Both of these happened while walking around in Kharaz-Arad. All instructions in the readme.txt were followed.

I made sure to find out exactly what was causing the crash. Oh, and can someone translate that computer info into regular speech for me? Seriously.

Added more types of flaming swords, was pretty easy to implement.

Quick note: There are free alternatives that decompress RAR format without the shareware bullshit, most notably Peazip. Other alternatives include 7-Zip and IZArc. Keep in mind that I'm not saying WinRAR is not an excellent program (I personally don't like it but there are others out there that swear by it) but unless you need the program to make RAR files there's no real reason to use a shareware application for a task that a freeware app can do just as well (if not better).

When will someone put up a Wiki page about LIVAN? Some people have asked me about it and I don't know anything, nor anywhere to point them.

I'm pretty sure you're legally required to post the source, being as how it's in the GPL which I think IVAN's under.

EDIT: He posted the latest source (spamming the IRC channel constantly) on some random site.

http://www.mediafire.com/?omfyijr2ddk Here's a mirror of it because I don't trust him not to remove it. Now until he comes out with another version this isn't completely screwing the license it's being distributed with.

EDIT: No, he didn't. Why did I fall for that? Because I'm an idiot.

If any original dev wants some free money he's very plainly breaking international copyright law.

Lampshade you MUST post the source code according to the GPL. This is only respectful to the original devs and to all the members of this community. Otherwise I'm afraid I will have to ban you, as much as I enjoy LIVAN.

Ok, let's clarify the things...
Only the people behind the GPL (the dev & such) could ask a lawyer to resolve this copyright problem, maybe the people who have added something in the source lampshade is using (Ighalli for exemple in the CVS version, and only for the part he was involved in I think). Nobody else. You could tell the dev about this problem, but they are the one who choose.

So, without any dev asking lampshade to release his modified source, it's useless arguing...

And last... Sorry for my english
