Merka is just as easy to kill. Just be mindful to fight with only one at a time, the guards especially are capable of some occasional surprise crits which may end up disabling an arm or so.

sprinted across GC6 and when i got to GC7 and looked for frog flesh there was no <spoily highly dangerous monster> there. There was a crazy loaded bones file there that was from maybe 2008 at the latest, and an orc general with like 20 orcs with him. all met their end. I now have the biggest collection of wands and scrolls I have ever seen.

side note: Sherry has spawned on the level. Im not going to take any chances with her and try to finish her with wands.

LOL! I will tonight, its CRAZY I probably have over 150 wands and scrolls, easy.

I was looking over the bones pile and am shocked that guy made it that far. his equipment was dreadful. I guess 6 years later my skills are a little better.

I just cleared out GC9 between the master necro and vlad its a complete mess. Im at a cross roads right now. do it take the head back and call it a day? Do I take on peterus? do I go for ore? any advice on which I should do first, oree or petrus? and what I need to have prepared for both?

I always head for Oree first, but that's your call. If you intend to head on downwards, depending on your current wand status you might want to stash a wand of slowing and a few teleports along with a healing potion or two on GC1 in case you lose your wands and potions on the way.

Going down you'll want to have at least a few scrolls of detection with you, or alternatively very high INT with ESP. The mage room is completely capable of ruining your day regardless of your current gear, so you'll want to be able to skip it should shit hit the fan. Oree himself is piss-easy, getting there alive and clearing out the casters on the level safely is the hard part.

With enough AGI and DEX (around 30+) and sources for both slowing and haste, Petrus isn't very hard to take down if you take it slow and never let him hit you. Never take your chances head-on, and be mindful of the AoLS he's wearing as death clears status effects. Clearing out Attnam before engaging is very helpful.

Or of course, if you've yet to complete the Elpuri ending, that's also something you may wish to take. Being able to say you've won in IVAN is already worth it.

Ive already done the elpuri ending once 2-3 years ago. Do you think I need to take out the casters on orees level first or can I just sprint over to him and take him out?

Do note you have to grab the Shirt of the Golden Eagle before you kill Petrus if you want the High Priest ending. Otherwise you can just skip out on even going to Oree at all and just kill Petrus and take his nut out of town.
The only difference here when going for the nut ending is that having the shirt prevents the entire town from attacking you when you challenge Petrus.

Really? So if I get the shirt and take on petrus the rest of town doesn't turn hostile? never knew that.

Is the Mystic light frog tameable?

The town does turn hostile when you challenge him, but returns to neutral once Petrus is dead.

Yes, the light frogs are tameable.

Could've sworn it only turns some of the town hostile when you present the shirt rather than every man and his dog, I shall have to go check.
EDIT: Huh. Guess I was wrong. But yes the town goes back to normal as soon as Petrus bites the dust so I suppose that makes it slightly easier to pull off than the chaos ending.
