So if i get this right, i better pack some wooping 20 banans before going out of the cave level 5 and find that damn city. Cuz i recall starving in the wilderness map running around trying to find the city before starving to death (adding the irony that when i press to go in a specific location it says "go there? you really have no interest stoping there..." mmm no, except maybe some DAMN FOOD?! 1

Appart from that fustration, does carring lots of stuff make you hungrier? also more stronger? (having burdened, status) 2

Also i noticed that sometimes i find ghosts of my past self... with all the wooping items i had, i guess this happens random every time i start a new game, right? with a random dead character? 3 (judgeing that that Chararacter had a really high score, so he will be worthy of showing up)

Funny thing is i had a wand of necromancy and used it on my dead "Rupert" character, and to my surprise it raised from the dead ! even more, he started equiping his equipment back! WOOJ... what a rush. Next question - i was wondering if weather ressurection scroll brings him back to life?4 that would be like a wooping coop play with myself, exept i am playing from another dimension. Don't you just love new hyped forum people? (don't answer that one^^)

And last one: how can i raise my INT and WIS stats? and what is the diffrence beetween them? or better yet, how can i raise ANY of my stats? and what use do each one have? 5 (okay i may have been too much pretiontios with the last question )

1) When you are in the world map, you can look using the L key and arrow keys, and find the city! Of course, sometimes there may be a convoluted route to get there and you end up going the wrong way, but it does show you where it is. That's something I only learned after many characters starving to death as well.

2) Yes being burdened makes you hungry faster, and it makes your legs stronger.

3) Yes I think it can happen randomly any time you enter a new level. There are some certain cases where it won't happen but I can't think of them right now.

4) I'm not sure about the difference between necromancy and resurrection. If you used a resurrection wand then yes he would definitely be back and you can play with him (but can't control him much).

5) For INT and WIS you can raise them both by raising scrolls and books, that is the easiest way. INT is most useful for hardening your item materials.

Wisdom helps you with god relations -- you gain more favor when you pray. With enough wisdom it's possible to pray to Valpurus and gain favor with Mortifer. Raising it can be hard -- I believe it can be sci-trained, the only other methods I know of are reading holy books, prayer, and sacrifices.

As for bones files (when you find a corpse of yourself), they happen on levels you died on. However certain game features being disturbed -- such as Jenny, the secret rooms in the GC, the Enner Beast, the shop -- will prevent bones files from generating in the first place.

And on the wands -- A wand of necromancy will make a rotting zombie out of a corpse. A wand of resurection actually brings them back to life. However, the wands of resurrection only bring the body back to life -- if there is no soul nearby to inhabit the body, it'll die again immediately.

Soul means ghost. When the ghost flies over the dead body he formerly inhabited you can zap the wand of resurrection, otherwise, you can't.

As for certain level features being disturbed, that means, for example, killing/discovering certain level specific unique features, and then dying on that level, will prevent you from discovering that body on that level in the future.

As to your question of how to raise stats, that is covered quite comprehensively already. Browse about, you may find more than that to your interest

Ah! I forgot of an exception to what I said before, you can't resurrect humanoids if you decapitated them, unless you put a replacement head with the body.

If memory serves, mind.

Ok but isn't baitting the ghost over the dead body kinda tricky? and how am i suppose to fuse his head back if he lost it?

And i still didn't get it about the features.... you mean like killing gematrix the big plant? and again, is this meant to be intentional ?

Ah, are wands rechargeable?

Yes, killing Genetrix and dying on the same floor means you will not be able to encounter the body of the person you were just playing as, on another character. This is intentional as if you could do that you could go ahead and, for example, kill Genetrix and die, and then when you got to that level again, with a new character, Genetrix would still be dead, which would give the player an unfair advantage.

Baiting the ghost over the body can be difficult but you shouldn't necessarily be forcing yourself to do it whenever possible.

The fusing of a head is taken care of when you resurrect the headless body, all you need to do is place the head on the same tile as the body.

Yes and yes.

It'd be greatly appreciated if you read into the forums and the wiki for your questions, as they're all either very simple or already answered elsewhere.

About the wands, they have a random initial number of charges, but every time you recharge them, they get the same amount.

I think you were asking if encountering your ghosts is intentional, yes it is a feature of the game. That's why you have a folder called "Bones", that's where all your ghost levels are saved.

I don't mind all the newbie questions, the forum was getting boring and he may not want to read the Wiki because of the spoilers.

Don't get me wrong, Capristo, I'm more than willing to answer his questions, I'm just asking him because some of his questions are already answered elsewhere. But I suppose I can't blame him for not wanting to look.

And what does Wisdom do ?

Ding dong hi thar, dood.

I think the most important use of Wisdom is... increasing Your intelligence. Which is very important because, as Capristo noted - it is helpful with changing materials. And teleporting.

If You sci-talk ('C'hat with for example hunters and spawn some overcomplicated, sophisticated topics), Your Intelligence is trained (as is Wisdom, actually). Certain beings have certain requirements of BOTH Int and Wis.

Apart from sci-talk, reading some more "rare" scrolls trains Int very good (it's more benefitable to read a scroll of enchant weapon then for example even 3 scrolls of teleportation).

If You want a good way to train Wisdom, I suggest that as soon as You get to know some gods and decide which You want to have the best reations with (for starters You could choose one alignment of gods, like for example pray ONLY to Silva, Loricatus and Mellis), You just pray every now and then. Even when You don't need their assistance - the gods in IVAN are benelovent and luv prayers'n'shit. After some prayers, to either of them, You should notice Your Wisdom stat rising.

Cheers

Ah yeah, INT is useful for teleporting too as Al mentions. When you have telecontrol, the higher your INT, the farther away you can teleport under control (if you try to teleport outside of that range, you will instead appear in a random square).

And yeah... I don't find WIS useful either except for boosting INT
