Well, here it is.

Known Issues
- I haven't copied over the private messages from the old forum yet. So, do not send any new PMs or they will just be lost.
- Moderators don't have their powers. Don't worry, you'll get them back. Erno, you should have admin privileges but please don't use them yet
- If anybody could make some nice 750x100 banner images for the top, that would be great. As many or as few as you wish

Benefits
- software I am familiar with, I will be able to add new features a lot more easily
- Photo galleries available now
- Much cleaner layout in my opinion.

Please, if you notice any issues, especially with Timezones, let me know in this thread. I'm sure there are plenty of bugs still. Once I have finished porting over private messages and made sure everything is running smoothly, the URL will go back to just attnam.com without the "new/"

Thanks,
Capristo

PS - Erno is still the Big Chief. But since we needed to upgrade to PHPBB3 soon, which wasn't working, I decided to go this route. So think of my as the Webmaster while Erno is Administrator.

And it appears they are fixed. Make sure you report any issues in this thread.
Thanks!

Am I the only one thinking "New Attnam" vs New "Attnam"?

Ahh, feels terribly awkward, but I'll adjust.

Thanks a lot for making and taking care of this forum, Capristo and Ernomouse. You guys are great.
Proudly bringing disaster and mental scarring to Attnam since '05!

Looks great, I like this layout a lot more than the old one.

The arrows on don't take you to the last post as they used to, however. I'm talking about the last post arrows on the forum index: f.ex.

Ernomouse ->"

Instead they take you to the profile, which is far less useful.

Issue 2: If I edit my post and post it, I am redirected to it. Opera loads the old post, and I need to refresh the browser to see the edited post. Firefox was fine, so I guess it's not your fault, but I don't remember noticing this one on phpbb2.

If this is New Attnam, where are the banana growers? Shouldn't this place be called the (former) Temple of Silva or something?

Thanks, I'll work on these today. The second issue is probably from caching, I think I know how to fix it. The first issue will be easy to fix.

Good point Atomic

Erno I believe I fixed the first issue; of course I can't test it until someone else replies but let me know if it is fixed for you.

New features:

- You can browse & search previous shoutbox posts (click history under the send message box)
- You can delete shoutbox posts, up to an hour after posting them.
- The "who's online" box at the bottom of the main page is automatically updated every 5 seconds through ajax.

New users may now register. I've moved the website back to "attnam.com" without the "new"

Weird, just now typing www.attnam.com didn't go so well, but now it's fine...

Edit: Also, thank you for fixing the arrows, but now the "view new messages" arrows don't work... I feel like I am making too many remarks.

The problem with attnam.com was that I was moving everything from the new folder just at that moment (I posted that it was moved prematurely)

Don't worry about too many remarks, I'd rather hear more. You were right, I accidentally changed that and it is back to normal now.

And finally, the benefits of this over phpBB, some of which are already obvious:
- view latest topic in forum index
- send PMs to multiple users
- PMs viewed as threads instead of single messages
- archive old PMs so that your inbox isn't cluttered
- photo galleries
- polls which show you what you and others voted for
- polls are really cool to add try it!
- shoutbox has greatly improved
- layout improved, especially forums, topics, and profiles
- search members list
- give your post/topic a smiley
- long URLs are spliced, images are resized so that the window isn't too wide
- attachment thumbnails
- report offensive posts to mods (click the )

I've just noticed some of the longer titles are broken. Notably Fluffy and Norn's.

Hey, here's a banner I threw together. Let me know what you think.

I plan on doing more with actual IVAN graphics, any suggestions? I'd thought about banner that depicts a showdown with Genetrix. Another idea I had was a banner with a bunch of explosions off, i.e. in the mine field.

That looks nice Meepo and I can certainly add it to the cycle. Where has blob been by the way? It would be good to get his permission first ... also to make sure he's ok with them being in the gallery

I would really like something that actually says "The Cathedral of Attnam" in it, to be the first banner image.

Blob, alas, shall not come back for good. I can ask if he's okay with his art being used, however.

For the banner, i think you should put in the mine explosion idea.

umm... wtf, no matter what I do, when I try to take a screenshot of the explosions, it doesn't take the screenshot until after they are over and the smoke is there. The screenshot bmp AND the Windows system screenshot. Can somebody else take one?
