Enemies with negatively enchanted gear

I was wondering if this is a bug or what exactly causes enemies to spawn with negatively enchanted gear. In the latest version I seem to have run into this more often than I did when I played 0.50. In the screenshot you can see I encountered Rondol, who spawned a bit late considering my equipment and stats. Rather than having enchanted gear to counter this, all of it is negatively enchanted which is odd. Any clues?

Edit: Not much later I ran into Guugzamesh and he had properly enchanted gear (+2/+3), so it's weird.

Yeah, I have seen this too, but it's rare and seems random. Most uniques are generated with their proper gear, but once in a while I find them with this strangely negative gear, even when I'm not so weak that the game should be trying to compensate for the difference in danger level.

Yeah, the thing is that it's not so rare anymore. Just ran into Ur-Khan with the same issue, although this time I was arguably not ready for him with his standard equipment. I fought him head on and he did some serious damage, so I'm pretty sure he would've killed me otherwise. In any case, I think no enemy should spawn with disenchanted gear ever, and specially not the named ones. The limit should be regular gear with no enchantments if the game had to scale its danger level down.

Yes this issue is on GitHub. It’s not any more common than it has been though. Seems like certain characters will see it a lot within one game and others won’t at all.

I have only seen it once, and in that game all the named baddies had negative gear. Made my high priest run easier

Ok, that would explain my perception. Seems I had bad (or good?) luck with a couple characters then.

I've run into this issue before in older versions. I always thought it had something to do with the bosses spawning out of depth
