That is true Slob, but you forgot to mention that breaking locks against walls increases the chance of the items inside breaking, especially bottles, as Batman? found out the hard way. Kicking the chest around (NOT against a wall) has a chance to break the lock with less of a chance of item breakage. Throwing a chest around does nothing.

Only way to find out would be to use a stethoscope, I suppose. I'll see if I can do some tests for ya. Not this week though, I'm busy this week.
