I totally agree with the pet AI thing. It's one of the major problems of the otherwise amazing game...

A little bit about selling: The prices depend far more on the material's worth than actual usefulness of the item. Highly-enchanted steel weapons are often worthless, but an unenchanted mithril one can be worth lots. Similarly, in my experience, the Holy Banana of Oily Orpiv is extremely cheap if generated in a shop.

Oh, and lanterns are perfectly acceptable god gifts (for those who don't know that yet), even though I guess they're almost worthless individually. Legifer seems to like them a bit more than others.

Somebody around here stated that Perception does not affect searching... or at least, for sure, not its range. It's always one square away.

Fire protection and the ring of searching are not that hard to come by (I even get these generated in Attnam shop quite often). The real problem is equipment explosion.

Fire? "Duh, I'm protected!"
Wand of polymorph explodes! "Oops, I'm a mushroom now!"
Wand of striking explodes! "Shit."

Use scroll of detect material to detect "enner beast flesh", teleport near him (not right next to him) and use FIREBALLS not striking. Striking does no good against him, fireballs usually takes 2, at most 3 shots.

Hmm, I once killed enner with a wand of striking, but that was on a bone level where he already got hurt before, IIRC. I also once got him killed, surprise surprise, by my agility-pumped mistresses.

(other than that, it's mostly luck for me, because I only got past enner a few times)

Ps. Does anyone know whether enner can be given leprosy by Scabies, or perhaps kicked around a bit by Silva's earthquakes? I've not much time to experiment right now.

I'd say it's more of a test thing... it wouldn't make sense to start with so awfully high unarmed skill if you're supposed to actually train it like other ones.

Oh, don't worry. There's also "awfully touches" message possible, so you didn't get the worst fate

Not a death, but I found it funny:

I decided to have some fun by looking at the source files. Some interesting things:

- Being Satiated abuses Agility (I never suspected that, somehow, but it makes sense in the context of unexplainable Agility drops ).
- Eating / drinking ommel fluids is considered a chaotic act (a very minor one), as is eating unicorn flesh. The message "you feel this was an evil deed" only appears for cannibalism, though.
- Hiccups are coded even in version 0.50, but commented out - apparently, they draw monsters' attention and may interfere with reading.

One more thing I've noticed: The player starts with unarmed skill at 19! Would be nice if you could fix that, if you're still working on the project (heh, I was thinking about using it as a base for adding some other variant features)

There is a dev document listing places such as Irinox (from the line you are quoting - city of witches or something like that), Bazaria (a commercial city where the tourist come from), Mondedr (implemented in LIVAN), and some other. I think they are yet to be implemented.

The priestess of Silva also mentions Lunethia, some elven realm where the avatar of Silva (tree) exists.

Oh, and the guards mention the elemental plane of fire
