Been playing the game for three weeks or so, finally managed to beat this game and decided to share this glorious moment with you guys! Had plenty of good characters earlier on but due to being new to the game died to totally ridiculous things, (ie. drinking sulphuric acid).

As for the game itself, used phoenix feather limbs and the mode I used was LIVAN, so far from a perfect game but next game will feature the killing of Petrus for sure. Didn't really encounter any of the baddies except Guulgamesh but he was a joke anyways, his head was split off. Hardest opponent was probably the Vault Keeper at Kharaz Arad or then Elpuri who almost managed to kill me by destroying some wands I had on me(luckily though he also broke my wand of mirroring, and my clone then proceeded to whack Elpuri in a few turns) Gear was pretty much the standard here, vermis and a whip of thievery at 9 and material up to octiron were more than enough to secure an easy win. Oree, here I come.

I just noticed your second highet score...
If you had completed that game, you would have a much higher score
System would indicate in graphic if person is mounted on horse or not.
Same system also show if person mounted on boar, elephant, polar bear etc.
Or if person mounted on ass.
Ivan find mounting on ass funny.

Capristo I think you'll find many more people beating it in a short time amount of time as these forums and the wiki are so full of information that you can get quite far in this game just by reading about how polypiling and putting items into chests works wonders

Yup another noob victory. Started almost exactly at the same time as taraN. Easy fight with flawless sapphire and arcanite limbs. Hardest foe was Golghor Dhan, who almost 1 shotted me, thank god for dual vermis. Was later killed by a valpurium Golem... mutter mutter.

How much does LIVAN and other mods introducing new weapons effect the balance, making the game easier? Though taran used old style weapons...

Not to mention that all the good info they're giving credit to wasn't that hard to amass considering there hasn't been an update in a long ass time

Still, good job and welcome!

One major difference i've found is the existence of a "dragon cuirass", an armor that has a higher AV than plate mails and is always at least dragon hide or higher as a material and really makes survival hell of a lot easier. Also, several gods give the champions some sort of rewards, ie. Loricatus gives you his branded hammer, Legifer gives you a katana and same with Cruentus who gives you the evil version of the katana. Most useful item out of everything is probably the Large and Mysterious Saga of the Pantheon which can either be bought from the librarian if you're lucky, or then acquired by knowing all the gods or then just finding it on the ground. When read, it grans +1 to wisdom and intelligence AND it can be copied&mirrored making just a few charges of your mirroring wand result in tremendous intelligence boosts. One "drawback" of playing LIVAN though is the fact that as you take damage, theres a chance that your body will get scarred, possibly resulting in stats decrease and a permanent hp reduction.

Just in case you didn't know, the scars are part of CVS so they were going to be added to regular IVAN. I think it's a really cool feature. I forgot about the saga of the Pantheon.. I cloned that a lot to boost my int and wis. Definitely adds an unfair advantage over regular IVAN and should probably be considered a cheat just like ommel cerumen. Also Erno, just take a look at my 2 highest scores:
1,090,696 with LIVAN (Knight ending)
404,058 with IVAN (Chaos ending)
Divide by the bonuses and you get 272,674 vs. 134,686. I think all of the additional levels just gives you a lot more time to advance your character without having to face too many bad guys (like in the extra city lampshade added, there are several levels underneath if I remember correctly, and I don't think any of the named baddies can appear in there? )

Damn, was on lvl 12 with two +15 whips of thievery and valpurium gear and GEF arms, accidentally took my polymorph control ring off and it cost me the game as i turned into crap by assaulting the mage room and destroying all my wands which resulted in a massive blast... Sherax, Ur khan and Golgor had already died during the game so was well on my way to kill oree.... stupid wands always killing me

Try to put them into a small chest or a strongbox, that'll keep them quite safe.
Right, now you killed me. Happy?

I have, but the latest game was just a minor error on my part, but I think it's possible that the chests get broken at least i've died a few times for what at first seemed to be small explosion and then my whole chest collection has exploded killing me outright.

Well, Ischaldirh destroyed my GEF chests in a game so I was just wondering how freaking hard the boxes actually have to be to not be destroyed. -.- It's pretty annoying to always drop it down on the stairways if it is indeed so that there's always a possibility that they break.

yeah he's a bitch but valpurium strongboxes will stop him from shattering wands in chests.
