Dealing with food

Now, maybe i'm just not a very good IVAN player (in fact, I'm probably not.), but I always have so many damn issues with food. Next to getting killed by a ravenous hoard of plants on UT4, i'm pretty sure my most re-occuring death has been starving on the way to the town after. I always actually do pretty good if I can get to GC.

Any reccomendations for dealing with my apparent food shortage? I use Silva in emergencies, and hold onto canned goods. Anything else~?

Don't carry too much stuff. Try to avoid stressed. In fact try to avoid burdened. I recommend making a stockpile right at the stairs to the previous level of just all the crap you aren't actually using. Protect it with beartraps if you can. It's safer in fact to leave them on the previous level, however if you do that all the items are lost when you die (rather than potentially being stored for a bones file later on). Also, make sure to use the 'l'ook command on the world map before trying to travel from the UT to Attnam.

And finally... uh, good luck!

Sometimes you can choke down a kobold limb before passing out. Not so with the corpses.

Now all you need is to do it while caught in a spiderweb.

Why use a cheat engine to memory hax when you can just press X? I mean, aside from the obvious part where you can still get a highscore while cheating. Also, bananas in the New Attnam store seem to go bad much faster than bananas found in the dungeon, and it's also easier to get satiated off of enemy corpses, so it's not worth the effort in my book...

When i just started IVAN, i didn't understand how anyone could play this game, so i ate every corpse (but Kobold) and i could hardly ever pass UT3 unless i got really lucky...

But now i got better, yay!

there are a few ways.

1. Beat the sumo and getthe Decos Banana Company shirt. Wear it in the dungeon and then go see Richel Decos - he really does pay you for advertising. Sumo can easily be beaten with beginning game stats if you take all his limbs off with bear traps. You can also use the belt to levitate over to attnam to sell gear without going to UT3

2. Eat mushrooms or drink from fountains until you levitate. Take you ger to attnam and sell it without passing UT3. If you go down the UT3 exit stairs from outside then Genetrix will be displaced just as if you teleported her away.

3. Teleport Genny (or pray to silva, or use the mushroom levitation trick above, or get belt of levitatin) and then sell gear in attnam without beating Genny.

If you set a trap in town, doesn't that make them angry?

No. but you have to set the trap outside of a building. For example, to sever all of huang ming pongs limbs you can place traps in the tile immediately south of his door. Then place more traps in the tile just south of that (2 south of his door). Then drop food over the second set of traps. laugh as he hauls his fat ass out of his hut to get the food. Pick up the food when he is stuck in the first trap. then move NW or NE to stand beside him and laugh. He will then proceed south and get stuck in the second set of traps. In the meantime you can reset the first set of traps so that he will get stuck in them when he drags his legless body back to his hut. If you don't mind being chaotic you can then eat his severed limbs to get bloated and challenge him for the belt of levitation.

Ok thanks for the suggestion, that's really complicate, for UT3, it's stairs down or up? I remember only 2 stairs up.

There's actually two upstairs and one down stairs on UT2. The down goes to UT4. One up stairs (on the left) goes to UT1, the other (on the right) to UT3. I'm not sure how it is in LIVAN or IVANT, as I recall they expand the UT. Or was that just IVANT that did that?

If you are on the world map and levitate across the ocean to the mainland and go down the exit to UT, the stairs that are normally blocked by Genetrix Versana, then she will be moved and the stairs will be open, allowing you to sell gear in attnam without beating GV.

Seriously... It sounds like you're disagreeing with him, except he's correct. Either that you're disagreeing with him by saying the same thing.

yep, gotta put those traps outside. here is an easier method: close HMP's door, throw a bottle of sulphuric acid at it, drop food outside his door stand to side and the move into doorways once HMP goes out to eat. Stand there chatting with him until his legs dissolve (you need boots for this, acid resist helps too) then let him in beofre he dies. eat blobs of flesh and challenge him.
