This recent thing with cavemen reminded me. A sub-forum under general discussions for serious discussions might be appropriate. What say ye, yay or nay?

I thought that's what General Discussion was for and people just weren't using Spam like they should. Fuckcelery.

Nay

The fact that if something is poorly done enough to get tossed into the "Spam" section means that technically only the "Spam" section is supposed to have unserious discussions.

In fact a "Serious discussion" section may just turn everything else into the "Spam" section

If you want only serious discussion with no sidetracking you could put it in your initial post.

Well, I thought it'd be like this.

Spam - people expect crazy stuff
Serious - people expect serious stuff
General - no expectations needed

If you don't see the need for a sub-forum however, I could do what I did in the fiction section.
