Strolling along, like I do, I walk into a room. Immediately, I notice that the floor is covered in vomit and blood. I'm wondering, "What happened in here?"

Then I find something else interesting: an empty bottle.

And three lumps of human flesh.

And a zombie corpse.

I am confused as hell...

Detective Azba is on the case!

Exhibit A:
An empty bottle.
Likely contained a harmful substance. Given the vomit, I would assume this was poison.

Exhibit B:
Lumps of human flesh.
Lumps are created when a more... defined object is destroyed by some means.

Exhibit C:
A Zombie corpse.
Zombies are very low intelligence monsters and equally unwise. Well, it is clear that our victim was a zombie.

Exhibit D:
Vomit.
Vomit is only created when a character becomes sick or poisoned, if they do not force themselves to vomit.
It is also quite acidic, especially in thick pools.

Conclusion:
A zombie was in the room and came across the bottle of poison.
Due to being very stupid, the zombie drank the poison and immediately became ill, vomiting everywhere and producing the puddles as well as bleeding from the damage caused by the poison itself.
As the poison worked its way through the zombie's body, some of its limbs fell off due to rot and landed in vomit puddles. The acidity of the vomit puddles reduced the limbs to mere lumps of flesh.
Meanwhile the zombie, now missing limbs, either died from the poison or dragged itself through the acidic vomit, killing itself.

I rule this mystery a suicide!
System would indicate in graphic if person is mounted on horse or not.
Same system also show if person mounted on boar, elephant, polar bear etc.
Or if person mounted on ass.

Maybe the zombie's wisdom stat was low enough to drink from a bottle of poison?
Edit: SNAP! *Takes all the cards*

Do detached limbs turn into lumps just from lying on acid-covered ground? Most of the non-explosion-non-golem-humanoid-sourced lumps of flesh I've seen resulted from acid damage destroying a limb that has been splashed with acid or is standing on acid. My guess would be that the three lumps are the result of the two legs being destroyed while it's standing, and the groin or an arm being destroyed while it's crawling. I think the torso has to be intact for the corpse to be produced.

Ah, the lumps of human flesh threw me off. I forgot that most zombies were once human

I double checked and you're right, items lying in acid don't get dissolved.
So your suggestion is definitely a possibility. The zombie might also have vomited on itself, causing the limbs to be destroyed when the vomit melted them.

There were some mushrooms around as well. I disregarded them as potential vomiters as none of them were in the empty-bottle tile. But worth mentioning.

Also, can zombies be poisoned? Seems like it shouldn't do much, being as they're already dead and all...

Amusingly enough, in IVAN zombies can be poisoned and mushrooms can vomit.

I'm more amused that the mushrooms can vomit

That's what I thought would've caused the lumps. But why vomit?

True, acid just dissolves the victim.

Besides, there was no trace of sulfuric acid. Unless someone was foolish enough to ingest the stuff...
