Well, as the title says finally I won. It was really tough and fun and I spent a lot of hours playing it.

I used no artificial limbs.

I defeated Elpuri, continued through the portal, managed to clear the mage room with patience, wands, flying quarterstaffs (it helps to throw items at this point ) and the help of an archangel.. then defeated Oree. Afterwards I managed to achieve the high priest ending, though not the way I would like. I did it while polymorphed into Sherarax (I killed her in a loooong battle described below) using her two spider silk whips, Attnam was a piece of cake this way. Limbs flew everywhere, it was a limb party I guess the correct way would be in my true form, but anyway.

Well here some screenshots:

The first time I saw Sherarax... I didn't stand a chance against her.

Sherarax's death...

Note that it took me 2 ingame days to kill her. I did the following:

I resurrected a mystic dark frog and tamed 3 master necromancers, then I went to the level where she was... After that I locked myself and my party in a small room, safe from her where the dark frog could cast spells and the master necromancers raise zombies constantly. She tried to open the door quite a few times, but I got permanently hasted (thanks to the mystic dark frog) and was able to close it before she could move, then lock it again (didn't know that last bit), then the frog would telep her away. I was hoping for the frog to desenchant her stuff so I cloned it twice, now I had 3 frogs, but this didn't work that much. The best thing was her catching leprosy by fighting legions of zombies raised by the necros. Her right arm dropped to the ground after some time but that wasn't enough... I kept praying to chaotic gods and spawned an archangel, Sinistra. So we went to fight the one handed Sherarax, I just watched from behind the archangel (too scared to die ) and Sinistra was killed, lost his amulet of life saving and with her second life killed Sherarax, but as she has an amulet of life saving too she recovered her arm and killed the archangel. I teleported away and again to wait. After a while I could spawn another archangel, this time Pestilentia, so we went again to fight, this time I managed to connect one or two blows, and the Archangel (with one arm less and his weapon stolen by Sherarax whip of thievery) gave her the final blow.

Xinroch spawned by a friendly necro

Oree defeated:

Finally Attnam destroyed and me sitting in the throne:

Yes when I got it from Mortifer I had 40+ str as a result of a wand of cloning and four bottles of ommel urine

Unfortunately, due to leprosy I lost 5 points in strength til the end of the game, I had a hard time dealing with leprosy as I ran out of antidote liquid past the portal, so I just hoped that Mellis gave me some, but my bottles were broken and he kept giving me water or sulphuric acid, in wich case the bottle is wasted for a future pray.. ahh it wasn't easy...

Pet Xinroch is very awesome

Why did it say "You should perhaps move a bit closer" in the first screenshot?

An easier way to get Sherry to lose some limbs than leprosy is to set traps for her... I usually lay about 4 adamantine traps in a row in a hallway and let her get stuck in them. You'll have to lay them down multiple times and repair them because she will usually break them and get through, but eventually she's likely to lose a limb or two.

If you're lucky she may even get both arms stuck in the trap and then you can attack her while she's helpless. That only happened to me once. That's very risky though because there's no way to know for sure - once I thought she was stuck so I went up to attack and as soon as I approached she injured me badly. She still couldn't move so I was able to run away but she nearly one-shotted me even while her legs were stuck.

Cap: That strategy could be even more effective if you can manage to get the traps all in one tile. Higher likelihood of trapping multiple limbs. However this plan could backfire if one of the traps springs on you before you set them all, as you'll have to move out of the square to get free, thus either losing the offending trap (until Sherry comes by) or having to start over again.

Good point about putting them all in one tile. If you're levitating there's no risk

You can't catch yourself in a bear trap while planting it if you're levitating?

Actually you can, I tried that with meteoric steel bear traps in diferent tiles wearing a belt of levitation and sometimes I would catch my arm in the trap the moment I set it... Was quite risky as Sherarax moves really fast. In one turn she moved 3 tiles all with traps and breaking free from them all. Also I use the s key to search when I want to wait for opponents to move, it takes less time than pressing "." or 5.

About the "You should perhaps move a bit closer" is the message you receive when you try to examine a character pressing the c key when you are not making visual contact, that is, seeing in this case Sherarax through ESP.
