Well was just thinking this out of common sense, if organic limbs get stronger, why not material limbs get weaker by use and abuse? (considering of that friction with the ground when you walk) so you get by time minus stats with that limb

Because that would make an already hard if not nigh-impossible game even harder.
System would indicate in graphic if person is mounted on horse or not.
Same system also show if person mounted on boar, elephant, polar bear etc.
Or if person mounted on ass.

But it'd fit the game well. My only win is with natural limbs, anyway.

I didn't finish the game yet, still dieing at the 5th level in GC, (etters..) but till now organic limbs are bareable. I think that material limbs are allready hyped, and slowly decreasing their stats over time of use and abuse is reasonable.

And another thing i would like is to be able to detach them... (the material ones)

I dislike using non-natural limbs, partly because of the danger level spike that comes with them. As with Erno, my only win was with natural limbs anyways.

Well, they already can't be healed when they are damaged in other ways. So in that way they do show "wear." I think any natural wear just from friction should only reduce them by 2 or 3 strength values over a long period of time in order to be realistic. So it wouldn't make much of a difference.

I do think that artificial limbs makes the game a LOT easier. Not because of strength but because of the agility & dexterity bonuses. With natural limbs agi and dex never get very high, and they lower very quickly even if you do get them up temporarily. At least that's in my experience. Has anybody (by which I mean slob) ever gotten a very high agi/dex natural character?

I'm not Slob, but I did have a character that had the luck to find several ommel sweat bottles, which I cloned over and over. In the end I had AGI and DEX in the 40s. Although Slob can probably top that

Didn't it drop very quickly from there though? Whenever I drink ommel sweat, it returns to normal just a little while later.

It lasted until I got killed shortly after by a veteran kamikaze dwarf and a big mine

Agility does drop quickly, and the only sure way to preserve it is to be unburdened, preferably un-satiated simultaneously, most of the time. My best shot was to train naturally to about 26, ommel it to about 50, and have (over the course of many game days, enough to win, probably ;d) 40 in the end. But yeah, it's nothing compared to the flexible materials, of course.

Dexterity, on the other hand, drops slowly. After getting to about 47, char maybe lost/abused 3 or 4 points during the whole game, I am surprised to hear otherwise.

I typically have dex in the 30's Agi in the 20's to low 30s and Astr in the 30's. I use boots of Agi and gauntlets of strength. I have stood my ground against Petrus and won with these stats, of course clad in GEF and Valpurium gear and, oh yeah Petrus was usually hobbled by valpurium bear traps.

The main DEX loss comes from equipment. The higher your DEX the higher the penalty from equipment seems to be.

Well in this case seeing that the game does get harder, it can be droped... wouldn't had made a too big difference anyway...

I managed to kill Elpuri and bring the head to Petrus, but I did a backup save to try getting through the portal and the far I got was to Oree's Lair (didn't kill all the mages and such, just took the portal) where a bunch of Elite Dark Knights and Acidous Blood Golems welcomed me happily eventually killing me. Even though I got there, the previous level was extremely hard for me, zombies kept coming like mad, and when I say like mad I mean like MAD. Sometimes I couldn't even give a step forward before the zombie I had just killed was alive again. I got leprosy twice which I could cure with antidote and if I got near the mages room I was shot with electricity bursts simultaneously which hurted pretty hard.

All this with natural limbs.

I always thought Oree's Lair was really easy, it's getting there that's hard.

Have you managed to kill Oree with natural limbs?

I don't remember. I just think that the wizard level between the portal and Oree's Lair is the most difficult, and that's where I usually die if I get that far. But now I've learned just to skip through that level as quickly as possible, rather than foolishly try to kill all the wizards.

Yeah, absolutely.. and what about that screen you have in your avatar? Was that with artificial limbs?

Probably. I think the only natural limb victories I've had are delivering Elpuri's head to Petrus. Is the acid blood much more dangerous for natural limbs? Maybe that's why he seems easy to me.

I really can't tell. I didn't have any acid resistance at the moment. Had I known I was going to be gangbanged by a bunch of acidous blood golem I would have equiped 2 rings of acid resistance. I think that was the problem.

Oree can be killed with natural limbs with no problems, I guarantee that!

*slightly boggles at how easily this changed from a suggestion for a change in how natural limbs work and a resulting discussion of how unfeasible that would be to a necromancy inspired discussion of how awesome natural limbs are*

Should this topic be moved to tips-and-tricks, considering the spoily information contained herein? Or are we so far past that, due to the age of the game?
