Loricatus is the god of fire, machines, and weaponry. His alignment is N= (neutral).

Praying

Praying to Loricatus will have various results.

If he is pleased, and you are missing a limb, then he will summon a new limb for you made out of one of his aligned materials.

If you are not missing a limb, then he will do one of the following:

  • harden your weapon
  • give you a scroll of repair
  • fix any broken item that you have equipped

He may also summon an angel or his archangel Ignigena to assist you.

If you get a message that "You feel slight tingling in your hands," that means Loricatus tried to harden your weapon but was unable to. Failure can occur for a number of reasons:

  • Loricatus can only harden his aligned materials; tin into copper into bronze into iron into steel into meteoric steel into adamant.
  • There is a failure chance. The probability of a successful hardening depends on your relationship with Loricatus; even at maximum relationship there is only a 5% chance of hardening meteoric steel into adamantine.

If your weapon cannot be hardened further, you may want to temporarily "wield" your gauntlets or some other item that needs hardening, since Loricatus can harden any type of item, as long as it is held in your hands and made of the correct materials.

If he is angry with you, then he will turn your weapon into banana flesh.
