Petrus is the High Priest of Valpurus. He lives in the Cathedral of Attnam. He is considered a living saint, and his left nut is extremely desirable. Many counterfeits have been made, of varying quality, which you can find on your adventures and use as you see fit.
The player's first quest is to deliver an encrypted scroll to him. Upon the success of this mission, he sends you to the Gloomy Caves, where an evil dark frog named Elpuri has taken control. Your goal is to dive into the caves, slay the vile frog, and deliver its head to Petrus. If you complete this mission, you will be freed from slavery and beat the game.
Your other option is to retrieve the Shirt of the Golden Eagle, the greatest armor in existence, which has been stolen. If you bring the shirt back to Petrus, you will be knighted, again winning the game. However, if you are successful in acquiring the shirt, you may want to keep it for yourself rather than giving it to Petrus. If you choose to do so Petrus and all of Attnam (including kamikaze dwarves of Valpurus, Valpurus's angels and archangels, and many light frogs) will challenge you to an enormous battle, which you will in all likelihood lose. If you do somehow win, you can either take Petrus's left nut outside of the city and become Mortifer's right hand man, or you can become Valpurus's champion and take your place on Petrus's throne.
Stats and Equipment
Petrus wields the holy broadsword named Valpurus's Justifier. This valpurium weapon is enchanted +16 and is extremely accurate and light. It also gives him permanent Haste, PolyControl, Infravision, ESP, and TeleControl.
