Armor in IVAN is anything you can wear that can be used to protect yourself protects you from anything sufficiently harm, i.e. things that are sharp/poisonous/hot/etc. to go bump and cause lethal damage to your person.
Types of Armor
* Helmets* Cloaks* Body Armor* Gauntlets* Belts* Boots
Cloaks Body Armor Rings Gauntlets Boots == AV Rating Armor Value ==
Next to every piece of armor you will see the letters 'AV' and a number:
AV stands for Armor Value, which is a number that quickly tells just how well a particular piece of armor will protect you. Higher values obviously mean better protection.
There are only a few ways that AV is to increased or decreased: ---You can raise the AV by hardening the item's material (if possible) and by using Scrolls of Enchant Armor, which will enchant the selected piece of armor. :
---Enemies with * Harden or change the item's material.* Use scroll of enchant armor .* Being torn or broken in combat decreases the AV significantly and any ability enhancement is lost until the item is repaired.* Also, spellcasting abilities enemies can disenchant your armor (or soften its material, in disenchantCLIVAN your armoronly).
---If a piece of armor is torn or broken in combat, the AV rating decreases significantly and any ability enhancements will be lost until it is repaired.== Magical Properties ==
== Enchantment ==Some armor pieces will be enchanted to magically enhance or hinder a particular attribute. These will be clearly labeled with a statement such as "...of dexterity". The enchantment levels works the same as for AV, but if the item is torn or broken the enhancement will be ineffective until fixed with a scroll of repair or at a particular shop.
Some items will be enchanted to magically enhance or hinder a particular character attributeCategory:Items. These will be clearly labeled with a statement such as "...'of dexterity". The numbering system works the same as the AV, but if the item is torn or broken, the enchantment is lost completely until it is fixed with a scroll of repair or at a shop.
