Mellis is the god of money, trade, and politics. His alignment is N- (neutral leaning towards chaotic).

This state will cause the players limbs to drop off one by one in random intervals.

If you have a good relation with Mellis and pray to him, he will do one of several things.

The message indicating being infected is : "You feel you're falling in pieces."

He may give you a new limb out of one of his aligned materials, such as expensive fabric or (hopefully) a valuable metal such as diamond.

You can get leprosy from the following sources:
+
If you are carrying empty or broken bottles and cans in your inventory, he will fill them, up to 5, with random contents. This includes banana flesh, school food, healing liquid, poison, etc. Very rarely, you will get an ommel fluid, with the most common being Ommel Tears, Mellis's drink of choice.
*Eating leprosy-infected meat.

*Being near a monster that has leprosy (such as a Zombie)

*Putting back a bodypart that is infected (see below).

Leprosy can be cured with drinking antidote liquid, with a divine intervention from Seges, or by  the Priests in New Attnam or in the Cathedral.
+
Like all gods, if you have very favorable status with him, he may summon his Angel or Archangel, Leguleius, to help you.

Actually, leprosy is not a player disease on the whole. Single limbs are infected by leprosy : that means that reattaching an infected limb (such as one which dropped down due to leprosy) also infects the player completely.
+
He may also introduce you to other gods and boost your status with them. If he is angry at you, however, he will spread rumors about you among the gods, resulting in lowered status with all the gods.

There are no guaranteed locations for altars to Mellis. However, he is the patron of shopkeepers, and all three that you may encounter will be carrying his book.

Or an item made of any type of valuable (diamond, gold, etc), or expensive fabric. See the List of materials for more details.
*Kobolts and Goblins might have them, so don't eat them if they're rotten.

*Drinking from a fountain may cause this.

You can get rid of parasites by:

*Vomiting until the game says that you notice the dead parasite in the vomit

*Drinking antidote liquid

*Ultimately, if the previous won't help, by drinking Sulphuric acid. This'll kill you though, if you don't have a strong acid resistance
