Giant spiders have stronger webs and much nastier poison, plus they do not run away from the player.

Phase spiders can move through walls and are impossible to see without magic vision. Their bite is very poisonous and they can be a major threat if the player is unprepared to fight them. The tourist child in New Attnam will reward the player with a [[wishing|scroll of wishing]] for giving it to him as a pet.

The giant gold spider is an extremely rare enemy with the astonishing ability to turn the corpse of its prey into solid gold. Such corpses will likely be tremendously heavy, but worth a fortune if they can be moved to a shop. However, attempting to split these golden corpses into smaller pieces will revert them back to their normal material. The tourist child will reward the player with a [[wishing|scroll of wishing]] for a pet giant gold spider.
