Ivan on android with winlator (solved on my own)

I solved it by remembering that winlator has its own scheme for adding digital buttons, and the escape button I put onscreen that way works right, if someone finds this on google.
My phone has mali gpu so I use winmali fork of winlator specifically, to run wine and emulate windows, and I have an app that produces a digital keyboard on pressing a notification which normally works fine. The escape key, however, doesn't allow exiting any menus specifically in IVAN, maybe the keyboard puts in something other than expected by the game.
Is there an alternative key to the function of the escape key? I was also seeing some forks like IVAN 3D which apparently feature customization of keys to some extent but they seem to be very old and taken off the site as far as I can tell. Although the setup sounds strange, it works (even with my square phone screen) outside the one escape key. Is this issue rectifiable outside of rebuilding the whole game? (Also is there any working form of IVAN3D? That looked so neat.)
