I guess it shouldn't, as when you set up a trap, you have to move away from its square and then on it again to set it off. So the game likely checks whether you move onto the trap, but not whether you are already standing on it.

What about putting it somewhere in the Attnam Underground, maybe into a glass coffin? There already is a coffin at the bottom, if I recall correctly, only it looks as a bookshelf. It could be a special room for AU, as it has none.

Also, what about making that coffin at the bottom of AU actually spawn the Zombie of Khaz-zadm? Shouldn't it have been a boss for this dungeon? Now only the warning when you open the coffin is shown, not the zombie spawned.

OK, I reconsidered and decided that wand of polymorph is the single most bestest item you can ever find early.

Today, I found it on UT1 and decided to polypile some random trash. On the first try, I got huge amount of food and some holy books, but most importantly bronze pickaxe, so I could dig down walls of the room and polypile the sticks. The wand turned out to have five charges, and the third one got me an oil lamp with a wish, so I wished for an amulet of elemental protection.

In the end, I got one wish, a pickaxe, a runed ommel hair whip, a broken iron thunder hammer, a cloak of invisibility, a single gauntlet of strength +1, two carrots, some food and healing liquid, some scrolls and wands, including wand of teleportation for Jenny, plus holy book of Loricatus so I could easily fix the hammer. Polypiling is awsome.

Also, even with that amount of luck, I still haven't died of RNG backlash. I'm expecting it every second now.

Just to be clear on that matter and so I can, if need be, fix the wiki page - I remeber reading somewhere here on forums that cloak enchantment does not actually increase the resistance offered. Anyone knowns whether that's true?

anything brain-dead (un-dead or not)

Interestingly, it seems kobolds are considered mindless.

I guess I found a bug:

Zombies or skeletons of intelligent monsters are still considered intelligent (i.e. they show through ESP), even though the base zombie is unintelligent (and skeletons/zombies are mostly presented as mindless monsters, so they shouldn't show through telepathy).

Tell me about that. I just managed to kill myself with wand explosions after finding scroll of wishing in Merka's shop and deciding I can kill him with my attack wands. It's quite dangerous to use fireballs in small, crowded places.

What I meant was if you see a yellow ring you know that it's teleportation, blue is polymorph, red is searching (it's been a while so ironically I don't remember if those are all correct). There are a few colors that can be multiple rings but it's still nice to narrow it down. Same with the wands, you can identify which type of wand it is just by looking at the color.

Well, as I never bothered to memorize the colors of wands or rings, I always 'L'ook at them. So I would be quite OK with that change.

But that's just me refusing to remember any spoilers I can look up on wikis.

Yeah, the scrolls should definitely burn faster. I was able to get a scroll of repair on fire from booby trapped door (these booby traps are becoming quite larger threat, with them burning everything around ), run around a level for a while, then read it to repair a cloak. It would be nice to give the player a short time to extinguish or read the scroll, but not that long.

Also, you should be harmed by wearing burning stuff. I managed to fight through most of UT 3 in burning armor, before I found out I can dip it into fountains.

On the plus side, my ring of searching burnt away! It's awsome how you can lose your equipment now! Maybe now I will actually SOCM my flammable rings!

Anyway, the fire subsystem is great. I'm really looking forward to the day wooden rooms with mines will become burning death traps!
