Weren't ranged weapons planned eventually? Then you should be able to either fire a ranged weapon or throw an item at an intended square, and of course the distance of how far you can throw is affected by arm strength.. maybe dexterity also affects accuracy

Oooo I love the thought of fighting through GC6 with a flaming sword and there's a bunch of burning zombies wandering around.

Just showing appreciation. I don't think there is any expense that actually needs to be covered

I vote for making this a variant.

The mood system seems a little ambitious maybe but otherwise the merged 0.51 list seems good to me.

* Fix any known major bugs (we'll create a separate thread for bug reports, and decide which to include).

Were there any other major bugs besides these ones?

Quote
* BUGFIX: the shop door creation bug and dissolving body parts (TTY only?)
* BUGFIX: Mustard gas hostility bug

I have faith in Pent and Warheck, but we've had so many failed attempts to restart this so let's see if we actually get .51 released then we'll do a fundraiser

I'd be willing to try a reward system. I'm betting most people here trust you, cap, so how about the money stays somewhere safe under your control, for starters, and then we offer rewards to various tasks. Eg, $20 for the altar of Silva quest, and so on. And then keep some apart for hosting attnam.com, and some to buy a beer for the original devs.
I have no idea if it's a common idea (or even a good one), but it seems to me this would both split any money fairly and at the same time act as an incentive to code.
I'll be sponsoring anyway, though how much I'll have to give remains to be seen.

The only other option I could think of was if we just set amounts for every semi-major release and then looked back and estimated the % that people contributed.

But I think your way is simpler and probably better.

I'll be contributing so there's no need to set any aside for hosting but thanks for the thought

I totally forgot I had edited the script files with that golem room. I lost an arm and went back hoping the priestess would re-attach it and then immediately panicked when I stepped into New Attnam. I decided to set the golems free and let them rampage through the town.

Starting a new topic to avoid cluttering everything into 1 topic again.

Fundraising has been mentioned before. I don't think it's big enough for Kickstarter, etc. but if we ever had a fundraising just on this site, it would be good to know who that money should go to. Thoughts?

I think small, attainable milestones is good, especially when we first start off.

The Development Forum is now open to everyone

Rather than moving existing threads and posts around, I suggest we just start new topics to organize things

Hey guys, I'm closing the Trello board. Nobody was using it anyway.

Let's just continue to use the forum to discuss bugs and future development ideas.

It's slightly less organized than other options (Trello, Github, Wiki) but I think it's best because

a) doesn't require creating a new account
b) non-developers can be involved in idea generation / bug reporting
c) very easy to see activity

Should I just open the 'IVAN Development' forum to be public? That would be quicker than trying to figure out the bug that's not allowing people access. And it's not like we'd discuss anything secretive anyway.

However, I will still use the "IVAN Developers" group to give people the little icon and make them feel at least a tiny bit special and valued for all their hard work
