Testing it out some, love it! I think Medium is a little too big for the default though (possibly because I have the graphics at 2x factor so it carries onto more screens)... I think that will still have the same annoyances as vanilla IVAN where the map is just too large and hard to find what you're looking for. I would go with Small or 4 screens as the default
Artificial limbs always seemed easier to me in the past but I think that’s because by the time I got to that point I had changed & hardened them myself. Lately when I try for artificial limbs as a gift from a god the danger level screws me
Even with artificial limbs I think strong + flexible gear is more useful than strong metals
Lightning resistance is probably most important against mages although invisibility is super helpful in the big zombie level (GC 6?)
I feel like the opposite re: loot drops actually, there are some artifacts that I just never ever see anymore. Can’t remember the last game I’ve found a Saal’thul in.
So the abundance of cool items has reduced the chance of finding the one you want, and the inability to wish for artifacts has made choosing your play style more difficult.
e.g. I used to start with spears in UT knowing that I had a good chance of getting at least 1 wish later in game where I could get Mjolak if I didn’t find it randomly earlier.
This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it forces me to try different tactics and play styles. But it definitely feels different
I like the horns... healing is probably the most useful, but I usually go for plenty just because I'm obsessed with increasing my perception lol. And I like the safety net for if you're ever starving.
