I'll be testing! The xBRZ scaling is nice but definitely very slow for me (when running especially)
Any recommendations on what to tweak so that I can get the 2x scale but with better graphic performance?

Ooh this is awesome! Tested on my work iMac and it is working fine. Would it be possible to have the icon in Finder also have the banana and pickaxe?

Were you already injured when you prayed to him perhaps? If so then maybe the negative effect actually killed you, and that's why the save was (correctly) deleted. So maybe the save being deleted was not the buggy part, it simply crashed before displaying the kill message to you

Well shoot... in the past Microsoft forced me to click "More info" and then "Run anyway" to launch the EXE
Now unfortunately even when I take those steps to bypass it's giving me this and preventing me from running it entirely!
AND it deletes the EXE file permanently without asking me.

You'll have to install SDL2 mixer on your system.
OSX:
Ubuntu:
yum.. probably something similar
OSX:
brew install sdl2_mixer
Ubuntu:
apt-get install libsdl2-mixer-dev
yum.. probably something similar
