kinda sucks getting a couple in the underground tunnel before I have armor, but maybe I'm overestimating how much they end up hurting me

Well shoot... in the past Microsoft forced me to click "More info" and then "Run anyway" to launch the EXE
Now unfortunately even when I take those steps to bypass it's giving me this and preventing me from running it entirely!
AND it deletes the EXE file permanently without asking me.

You'll have to install SDL2 mixer on your system.
OSX:
Ubuntu:
yum.. probably something similar
OSX:
brew install sdl2_mixer
Ubuntu:
apt-get install libsdl2-mixer-dev

Yes lol. I think it makes more sense to bump that number, but if we have to make any quick releases to fix major bugs those would make sense to increment as 0.52.1, 0.52.2, etc.

I think letting it transform items wielded by another monster would make it over powered.
You will always get enough gold eventually. I think I prefer it the way it is, as a minor curiosity / something that comes in handy if you find it early in the game

I think you are overestimating it. Most of the time you die from critical hits to head/groin, explosions, poison, lost limbs, etc. I don't think 1 or 2 HP (or even 4 or 5) is a big deal. Endurance is easy enough to train if you want to compensate for it. See you in 2019!

Yep those are permanent scars that you can get randomly. I don’t know the details but I’m guessing they’re more likely after a critical hit
