For maximum funtimes, die while all your valuable stuff is stashed on a different level
I always carry all of my scrolls and potions around with me in a chest for this reason. i dont find it worth the time running around with stashes on other levels.
Maybe not the right thread but I think materials should have more secondary properties like the resist rust mentioned above. It always bothered me that material progression was linear and the game just became an arms race to get to the best material as fast as possible. i think adding in bonuses or features to some weaker materials and some penalties to the uber materials would make it more interesting later in the game. You end game armor would not nescasarrily be optimized by having the most exclusive materials, but by having the most most balanced combination of AC and bonus effects.
why not have mellis' actions be a non-negotiable trade. he is a god after all, why should he have to lower himself to negotiate with a mortal.
when you pray to him he exchanges your potions for other potions. if the potions he gives you are more valuable than what he took, he iether taxes your gold or if you have no gold in your inventory takes one item from you randomly or some other negative effect.
In Re insect clouds. I would think making them easy to hit but hard to damage would be interesting. If you were swinging wildly at a cloud of insects you would easily hit one or two of them without causing a large amount of loss to the swarm.
If I sort the community list by number of posts and try to go past the first page (either by clicking the >> arrow or on the page 2 icon) it defaults back to the baseline search, basically only allowing you to view the total posts of people on the first page. This is an unbelievable inconsequential bug, but i felt compelled to mention it nonetheless.
I would like to see monster use items in general. It would require some tweaking of item generation and the introduction of some magic resisting items, but it would be fun "the kobold lord zaps a wand of lightning at you. you die"
