Something is funky with the new post arrow (seen from the main topic list). I click on it and sometimes I end up at the first post in a topic, even if I've already looked at it before, instead of the newest post in a topic. What's up with that?

That's what it is supposed to say, but it does not.

Re: Scars - if you get one on your torso, you lose 1 HP. If it's on your arms or legs, you will instead lose a statpoint (which kind depends on where it is; leg scars = Agi/Lstr, arm scars = Dex/Astr). I believe head scars might also result in Int/Wis loss, but I don't think I've ever gotten any.

...do you have any idea what an amulet is, Muffenz? If not, let me explain...

Amulets are essentially necklaces (which may or may not come with a locket containing small things like pictures of family). IVAN, like many other roguelikes, has magical amulets, which are distinguished from ordinary (read: useless except to look pretty) amulets by the enchantments placed on them. In real life, an amulet might stop a badly aimed bullet, but would do nothing for a shot to the head, an axe/sword/knife slash or a mace/club/fist swing. IVAN, like many other roguelikes, assumes that unless your amulet is specifically designed to add armor class that all enemies are competent enough to get around it, thus it does not add protection in IVAN (nor would it be very likely to provide protection even in the case of the badly-aimed bullet; certainly not a high caliber bullet).

*always uses the real post reply button* >_>

Also, you can as Atomic mentions disable smilies in your profile.

EDIT: After trying it, I see that "Always enable smilies" doesn't work that way. My mistake. Alternatively you could try blocking pictures, or specifically blocking the locations where the most common smileys are. Personally, I'd prefer a "Disable all smilies" option over a smiley change.

Well, perhaps, but I was there a while, and in fact died there as a result of thinking Merka and his guards would care if a hostile genie showed up (they don't). Unless eddies can go down/up staircases at will, too, I dunno how likely it is that I missed it (I killed an eddy on the floor above).

I met no eddies in GC2, and do not recall there being any mentioned as being killed there when I died later, either.

Generally I take the boring way out and just keep the same name for all my games. If I ever win I might try challenges, but thus far the best I've done is reach the enner beast twice.

Not to my knowledge. I haven't explored the whole level yet, though.
